Solow Sports — Local services in Town of Huntington

Noticed the positive reviews and wanted to give my business to a local store. I called to ask specifically if they carried women's tennis sneakers in wide widths. They said yes and that they had many options. I visited the store and when I walked in the greating was underwhelming. One guy was stringing rackets and the other was sitting at the register. I had to walk over to ask for help with wide sneakers. I asked to be fitted and the man told me just to try on shoes. He brought me 2 pairs, neither of which were wide width. When I told him I need a D width, he said they don't make them, except possibly new balance. Didn't help me put them on or check for fit. I left empty handed and felt frustrated by the lack of attention and assistance you would expect in a small store. I have to wonder if my age or weight had some influence in this poor customer service....

Customer Service is king here.

After a 30 year hiatus I am getting back into tennis. I researched tennis shops and was steered here by a number of sources. I had high expectations and they were far exceeded. Knowledgeable staff, large selection, and availability of demo rackets and pros to test with. Within in a few days I was back out on the courts with a rackets that was perfect for me.

Prices are very compete especially and a real bargain considering the extra service you get.

BTW, I primarily used the Huntington location, the staff at both the Huntington and Glen Cove locations were equally friendly...

I should have started shopping there years ago...it would have saved me a lot of money. Everyone I dealt with at Solow so far is amazing. Yesterday we picked up a new racket when Julien was there. They went above and beyond to make sure that my kid was happy. Their price was better than any of the big online retailer and Solow included a leather grip and professional (their team strings for the pros at ATP tournaments) stringing! It's a long drive for me to the Huntington location but they really make it worth while. If you live on Long Island, you shouldn't get your tennis gear anywhere else,...
