First off pre planing to get on the lake was a pain. I could be wrong but i didn't see anywhere on the lake George websites that they DO sell the use permits. Second they have minimal parking for boat trailers and were completely out of spots. The decontamination crew were great super professional (they were the best people in the place. After that we launched our skis. Then I had to drive my truck and trailer all the way back to our campground and return with out it to park as a "car". Went out on my ski for a little bit with my brother in law (2 skis). We came back to the ramp to simply get some kids off so they could go grab our food within 2 minutes of being there (never left the ski or even got off) we had some park commission guy in a black suv yelling at us for being there (the ramp wasn't busy) so we got on the skis and idled off the dock. This guy would drive around the parking lot to make it seem like he left. One of us would approach so we could communicate with our family within seconds this guy was ripping through the parking lot to come yell at us. RIDICULOUS!! I completely understand they don't want people taking up dock space BUT it wasn't busy and we NEVER tied up or...
Read moreThis was one of those chances you take when very few restaurants are open and your really hoping for a great surprise. Well " SURPRISE " , and I mean that in the best of ways! The ambiance is almost magical, and then comes the service, by Paul, our waiter, who gave us unerring service that one would expect at a club 21, or "tavern on the green " ! Now comes the food, well that had us both sit back in our chairs and say "wow"! We both were surprised first by the size of our meals and then the absolute flavor and texture of a prime rib that we hadn't experienced in many years! I don't know if I can really do this little country restaurant, off the crowded main street of Lake George, but please, put this on your list of places to eat and enjoy a meal you will not forget. I hope the head cook doesn't get a big head over this but takes this as a compliment that makes him continue to strive for that same excellence he has achieved now! I want to thank the owners of George's restaurant, Paul our friendly attentive waiter, and of course the cook who made our meal which for us has set a standard few may never reach! Five stars are not enough to grade this...
