On 8 June 2016, Americade week, I ordered a salmon sandwich which came with potato chips, when the order came, the waiter with a pony tail on top of his head said, they ran out of chips and he will get them down stairs and he’ll bring it up right away, a few minutes later, the waiter stopped by and said how is everything and he mention he will get the chips right away again (here I am watching the waiter while I eat, not very busy at all, the waiter walking around serving at other customer and chatting with them), after finishing my meal with my friends, about 15 to 20 minutes later, the waiter dropped off the bill and said, is everything ok, I said, well I’m done with my meal and I still didn’t get my potato chips, the waiter laughed and walked away. The manager stopped by and said did everyone enjoyed their meal, I gave her a smirk and the manager said, what’s that about, I got up of my chair and told her never mind, she said I’m the manager, you can tell me, and I said, I didn’t get a complete meal, do I have to pay a full price?, the waiter came by three times, he said that he will get them to me, he didn’t care, just laughed at me and walked away. The manager said, is only a side dish and you’re only paying for the sandwich. It’s so ridiculous for a manager to say that, I really didn’t care for the potato chips but if I come to this restaurant or any other restaurant I expect to purchase a complete meal, and last, neither the manager or her waiter didn’t even apologize, a simple “Sorry” would...

First and foremost I must say, my family and I travel to Lake George many times throughout the year. Today we decided to eat at this restaurant which we thought was good “once upon a time ago”. We were treated with such disgrace of service at this restaurant that we once thought we loved and spoke so highly about, after today's visit it has definitely changed our thoughts. Upon arrival - my family of 7 was greeted great with respect and courteous service - whoever was the woman who greeted us initially was amazing.. When ordering food, we had a waitress by the name of Emily who did not treat us with any respect, and rushed us throughout ordering. My daughter was ordering her “create your own burger” she literally didn’t let her complete her order and went on to ask me if I knew what I wanted because she doesn’t have “time” and she has other things to do…we are paying customers as everyone else, so I then indicated - well if you don’t have time to take our orders accordingly, then here’s your menu, and we will not be eating here at all. She was extremely rude, if the restaurant manager had to tell her to go regroup herself, Emily should not be working in such a fast pace environment if she can’t keep up with the flow of the business. Very disrespectful and not a people person what so ever. My family and I decided to leave and we headed to “Gyro Hut” and must I say - they were absolutely AMAZING, definitely 5...

We decided to try Rooftop since we were looking for a place for small bites. When we arrived at the restaurant, there were lots of people in line. We had a party of 12 in front of us, but they were excused by the receptionist due shortage of staff.

The restaurant has a beautiful front view of the lake, but it can still use some lights and brightness when the weather is dark and gloomy outside.

The food is prepared in very basic way in this restaurant and desperately needs some uplifting. The chowder wasn't creamy, felt watery, the crispy layer of the fish, in fish n chips, had no taste or flavor. The fries that came with this dish, were blent and tasteless. The hot dog was a basic bread and a hot dog paddy, though it was the best thing I tasted there. The mac and cheese could certainly use some more cheese. The fries with hot and mac & cheese were totally disappointed and tasted much better.

The service was extremely friendly, prices are decent but the restaurant totally lacks in it's primary objective of serving good food.

Food taste - 3/5 Food prep time - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Price - $$&

Chowder soup - 2/5 Fish and chips - 1/5 Hot dog - 4/5 Mac and...

I usually don't start my reviews with a negative perspective, but my experience at the The Lookout Cafe on 7/12/23 was dampened by our hostess Greta. She appeared to be unhappy in greeting customers as well as not saying thank you for coming to customers when they left. Aside from that, the rest of the service was great, as our server Liam was helpful and friendly towards us and answered any questions we had pertaining to the food. I came for lunch and I ordered the Still Bay fish and chips, which was a fried, beer-battered haddock, which was tender and moist. The "chips" were fries, and they were flavorful. I also had ginger ale to drink with the meal.

We stopped in here for lunch Wedneday 27 September. The parking attendants over at the Lake George Stemship Company warned us that we would be paying for the view of Lake George. To be quite honest, there wasn't much of a premium. We enjoyed the Fish and Chips and the portions were so large that we couldn't finish the fries [chips.] The service was excellent. This is an open air venue one story above street level. They are able to close it in with transparent roll up shades and heat it with propane towers, noeither of which were needed on the date we visited.
