Was forced to leave because I have a trained service animal for PTSD. A female employee approached me stating pets weren’t allowed. I kindly explained to her that the dog was working service animal and reminded her that service animals can go anywhere humans can and failure to comply with this is discrimination to individuals requiring service animals. After I told the lady, she continued to ask question after question regarding her certifications, (which is illegal by the way!) After I answered her questions she shot back at my stating that PTSD isn’t actually a medical condition and that therefor my service animal was just an “emotional support animal” and forced me to leave. The amount of ignorance it take to state that PTSD is not a real medical condition and to call my working service animal an emotional support animal is beyond me! I have NEVER had such an infuriating experience in the 3 years I’ve been blessed to have received my service animal.
Being kicked out of an outdoor farmers market for requiring a service animal Is the lowest level of petty I’ve experience. This woman needs to be educated and learn the rights of service animals and their handlers.
This interaction put such a bad taste in my mouth that I would never recommend this...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped here late on a Saturday morning. The parking area was pretty full, but we were able to find a place to park easily. We had arrived less than an hour before they closed for the day.
There were two aisles of tents set up with a variety of goods, including cheese, fresh fruits and vegetables, maple syrup and so forth.
Unfortunately, due to our late arrival, many places were already low on items, so we just looked around. We did a few samples from a couple booths.
Since we went on a Saturday, we were able to park in an area that normally requires permits. Then we did some exploring around the area while we left our car there.
I’d recommend a visit to this farmers market, but if you’re going on a Saturday, I’d suggest getting there a bit earlier...
Read moreThis must be the gold standard for farmer's markets. They offer a varied selection of fruits, vegetables, homemade bread, soaps, and cheese. The flowers are beautifully bunched in prearranged bouquets ready to be displayed at their final destination. Also, breakfast sandwiches and coffee are available. Luckily, I live downtown TC and don't drive to the market as once again, parking is at a premium and in short supply. The only concern I have is that I question that all the fruits and vegetables are locally grown. Who polices this? Overall, the market is a wonderful resource for fresh ingredients as well as other...
