I recently went to Men's Warehouse to rent a Tux for the upcoming Navy Ball. I went in 6pm on a Wednesday night, three days before the event. When I arrived I was told that it would not be a problem, they could rush my order.
It was a 15 minute wait to be fitted. The lady who did my measurements had to grab a larger tape measure when measuring me around the chest over the arms. When she did so she stated "That's never happened before". I felt quite uncomfortable and fat when she did that. I then sat and waited for 15 minutes while the girl who measured me disappeared and the guy at the computer went off to talk with a manager about a different customer. After waiting, the guy at the computer came back and asked if I knew which Tux I wanted. He seemed put out that I hadn't already picked one, then pointed out a binder before going back to a different customer.
Next the guy started putting information into the computer. While doing so the manager from the front came back and asked if he could run an item to the tailor as soon as possible, a customer requesting the alterations needed the item that evening.
After finally putting it all in the computer he printed out my receipts and told me the item would be available two days before the event. I said that the event is this Saturday, are you sure? He said that I was charged the extra 20$ for a rush order, and it would be in.
Thursday I called and talked with a lady at the desk. I asked if she could check and see if my tux was available for fitting. She, in a very put-off sounding way, said that the Tux would be ready two days before the event. I stated back that I had only came in last night, was she sure. She said yes she was, and never offered to check my name or ticket number.
When I went in Thursday evening, about 5pm, my Tux was not in the store. I was told that since it was a rush order it would be in Friday morning. I asked if they would make sure. They assured me it would be in, and never offered to check the computer or call the place.
Friday at 11 am the Tux was not in the store. Apparently the guy who put my information into the computer, while distracted by his manager, had put the Midland Texas store number on my order for the ship-to address. Why, I have no idea.
I asked what the store was going to do about it. The only options the employee and manager on duty would offer was to have the Tux shipped directly to the event, or have it shipped overnight to the Tulsa store. They won't be opening until 930 am. I was planning on leaving Tulsa at 6 am Saturday. I won't have the time to go in and still make it to the event on time. If it was shipped ahead, I would have been driving blind with the possibility that the Tux may not fit properly, may be not what I ordered, or may get delayed again in shipping.
I asked the store manager what he could to to get me into a Tux today. He said that their store does not do Tux sales, and he wouldn't be able to help me.
Management interrupted the employee while he was busy directly working with a customer, multiple times The computer system does not have the store delivery default to the store the order is being placed No one was ever willing to check the computer system or even the items on hand until I was in the store, and not until it was the day before the event No one offered to compensate me for my lost time
The Men's Warehouse at 71st and Memorial in Tulsa has lost me as customer. In addition, I recommend anywhere else to anyone else regarding Tux rental.
UPDATE 27 APR
Monday I received a call from Men's Warehouse customer service. They apologized for the problems I had on this. They have since contacted the store in question. They have said that the store made several mistakes, taking the easy way by giving the quick answer in stead of putting in the extra effort to look it up at the time.
Men's Warehouse corporate has offered me a $50 gift cards, should I decide to return to Men's Warehouse with my business.
I have updated this review from 1 star - poor to 2 stars -...
Read moreI want to take a moment to commend Men's Wearhouse for their superior dedication to customer satisfaction.
Here's my backstory:
My brother was shopping for his first suit for a school dance, having only decided to attend the week before. Working with an employee at Men's Wearhouse, he purchased one, then brought it over to show me. It was SIGNIFICANTLY too large for him. No amount of growing was going to be enough for him to fit that jacket. I was quite upset.
The next morning, I called the store and was transferred to a manager, Mr. Richard Pabon. I explained my circumstances and the fact the dance was the next day. He welcomed me to have my brother come into the store that evening. We returned and showed him the problem. It was quite a predicament between the timing, budget and sizing. He went ABOVE AND BEYOND what I ever could have expected from this store, especially after reading some of the other reviews.
At no point was he ever disrespectful or rude. He remained accommodating, friendly and supportive of solving the issue to meet our needs. He sold us an incredible suit and recommended a tailor who would be able to make alterations that same day. He was the epitome of professionalism, giving us the highest quality of customer service I've ever encountered while shopping for men's suits.
I'm giving them a 5 star, when I may have previously given a 2. THAT is what happens when your complaints are well addressed and Men's Wearhouse deserves recognition for their ability to solve customer problems. I believe that ability is a better indication of dedication to customer service than any other measurable factor.
So, for those of you who have had a negative experience, think before you review. Have you presented your concerns to management? If not, do so first in a friendly, matter-of-fact and polite manner. I promise you, you'll be amazed by...
Read moreI've had a polite and great time with four of their key staff that have been there for years. I am a returning customer with a retail card. I am specific to the 71st store, and the staff hasn't missed a beat. I only discovered this place after a friend's wedding. A specific gentleman named Kyle has always remembered my name and helped point me to the best deals in the store. At this point, my wardrobe has changed to 80% of their stuff, and it has been a great transition with the compliments and the great attention I receive. It has even helped in my career with the reception I have received as an executive.
To say the least, I am quite direct with what I need and want, and they are very easy to work with. They are always good to help me out, and if I implicate a budget, they'll help me dress out with that each time I visit. The perks of the store is that if you befriend the staff and carefully work with the sales and read the online deals and arrangements, you can make out with $1500 worth of clothes for $600. This is a serious notice to any shopper there. Alteration services and whatnot are there, but do keep in mind that providing the staff with the ample time they require will result in the best service. Frantic efforts never bode well.
This is my two cents. I go there because they know how to help a customer. Be a frequenter and take your time to get to know them and talk, and they will help you.
To address previous reviews: Charlotte and Kyle are excellent. Both are professionals and know their ways around the store and styles. If you ask for their frank opinions, they can give it and be able to discern what is good and bad. To that, I give them my credit and thanks. They've been great to seek help with in fashionable advice and work to optimize what deals are available on...
