SEPHORA — Attraction in Tulsa

I drove and hour and a half just to be able to speak with Tiara that worked yesterday. She has helped me once before and was such a brilliant, considerate, kind, woman. She helped me again yesterday, she took time out of her busy day to guide me regarding a shade match for foundation. She seems to know everything about not only every brand I asked about, but made AMAZING recommendations about other products. I can't explain how difficult it can be to find a true color match for me because I am native but have a very pale complexion, with a yellow undertone. I have never received the quality of help I truly needed until I spoke with Tiara! I am 31 years old and for the last fifteen years I have searched for products that truly work for my complexion, hours of research online, multiple visits to multiple stores, talking to sephora employees in many locations but also various other cosmetic sales associated for various stores/brands, not only in America, but also Australia and New Zealand. All of that guidance combined equaled nothing compared to the help Tiara at the Sephora at Woodland Hills Mall provided me twenty-four hours ago. I cannot say enough good about her, she helped teach me so much, and was genuinely kind. She made me feel like I was the only person on the planet, and I could tell she really cared about helping me. She is not only beautiful, but brilliant. She explained so very much to me, in a way that I could understand. I don't know who I might talk to regarding giving her a compliment but I want everyone at Sephora to know that Tiara is an absolute gem, and she deserves to be recognized for it. While helping me I saw her help three other people, and when I initially approached her she was stocking shelves. It looked like she knew how to do everything and truly knew every single product by heart. I am simply amazed. I wish that fifteen year old me could have learned from Tiara, and seeing her help a young girl who had never purchased makeup before made me thankful that she works at a Sephora location close to me. I have a hard time getting the right color foundation. My mom was real simple (lipstick was her main dailywear), so I didnt get taught facial skincare, how to colormatch base right, etc, so now in my 40s, theres still alot I dont know whats best, especially since my skin needs have of course changed. Recently I went in & asked what concealer they would recommend for what I was looking for. The girl color matched by guess since the computer wasnt working right, recommending Sephoras concealer, which was great w/me. I tried to get a recommendation for all day wrinkle cream to fit my needs, but the girl was young & just told me "to moisturize" & walked on to someone else. Long story short, after I bought foundation the next day from another mall store (sale, lol), the concealer made it too dark in combo w/the foundation. I did love the concealers full coverage though. I took it back to try something else & in hopes of maybe a recommendation for best all day wrinkle cream (preferably tightens skin but open to ideas). It was really slow.When I finally got help thanks to the lady upfront, I told the girl about the concealer being too dark & needing to find a better color, unless she recommended another option in that price range. She did not even try to color match me, even when I told her I am not good at getting the right color. She just told me theres only a couple lighter. Then just handed me the 1 step lighter, and that was it. I stopped her & tried to tell her I was wanting recommendation to help hide or tighten under the eyes. She just told me you have concealer or you can get botox, nothing else will help me, and that was it! The concealer is too yellow on me, but I'll have to make do. Maddie was knowledgeable about all things makeup, very friendly, and honest in a way that wasn’t brutal. Her honesty was truly refreshing; she wasn’t just trying to sell products. She genuinely made my concerns her own and escorted me around the store until we found the perfect foundation that matched my skin tone and didn’t feel heavy.

Thanks to her guidance, I broke free from the shackles of powdered foundation and expanded my horizons. As someone with oily skin, I was skeptical about trying liquid foundation, but Maddie’s confidence and expertise convinced me to give it a try.

I am absolutely in love with the liquid foundation she helped me find; it’s the perfect match and doesn’t feel heavy at all. Honestly, shopping with Maddie felt like shopping with a friend!
