Okay I wanted to love this fully so bad but I can’t, I’m honestly upset. The salon is very nice and our uber dropped us off at the wrong place so a lady came and walked us in which was really kind. I will preface this with saying both my nail techs DID do a good job (Cici and Chanel). However, there was a bit of miscommunication. The salon was already loud and so it was hard to hear them and due to a bit of a language barrier we also seemed to struggle to understand each other. My biggest issue is that I wanted a certain glitter color and pointed it out (I’m quite sure it was 423), it was goldish silverish perhaps a bit more on the gold side and the glitter granules were a bit larger and it was a more opaque/thick glitter. I told Cici the color and she did my pedicure nails and although it seemed a bit subtle I didn’t mind because i didn’t care too much about the toenails anyways and it looked alright. Then later, Chanel was doing my hands and I showed her a photo just as a VAGUE reference, i didn’t want exactly that and then i said too that she could just use the same two colors Cici did. She first brought a glitter that I knew definitely wasn’t the one I first liked because it was very fine and very silver. She then asked Cici and after some conversation brought over another one which was apparently the one she had used on my toes but it looked WAY too transparent, barely showing up, and I noticed the bottle said 443. Which I HIGHLY suspect was NOT even the number of the first one that i wanted! (bc i remember seeing 423 on the thing)😭😭 Anyways then I was like just the silver one she first brought is fine bc it at least showed up more but yeah. Anyways I didn’t know what to say and felt bad because she already had tried one on and wiped it off and honestly she just seemed a bit annoyed or disengaged which I can understand because it’s late Friday night, but still. Plus, I trusted them and didn’t wanna end up saying something and being annoying and end up being wrong, and on top of that we were already struggling to communicate because their english didn’t seem that great and/or it was loud and perhaps they (or Chanel at least) didn’t make an effort to fully understand. Anyways the nails still look good but Chanel just seemed a bit out of it and could’ve tried to ask me more/take more consideration to find a glitter shade i was happy with and I think Cici heard the wrong number from me initially but yeah :( they’re still okay i just really thought it’d be the more chunky more goldish one and this is for MY BROTHERS WEDDING that i’m flying across the world for in two days so yeah… Again I know people have bad days and I know it was really late Friday night but i’m just a bit disappointed and found it hard to speak up and got misunderstood on multiple occasions. I didn’t want a complicated design I was okay with just the nude polish + glitter but i wanted a specific one and it just got messed up. I don’t wanna hate on the girls but yea…I spent $100++ +20% tip… it’s my brothers wedding i wish i’d felt more satisfied. Like even making a mistake is okay but then bc of Chanel’s demeanor I felt too worried to speak up. 🥲🥲🥲 which is partly on me but she just didn’t seem to want to confirm with me if i liked it seemed a bit miffed at having to wipe it off and didn’t seem to understand me. 🥲 ALSO i even wanted to see the gel shades again to confirm if i was right at the end but then didn’t. Like I just felt worried maybe i was wrong and 443 was the one i pointed too but i strongly felt like it was not and was some other one (423) and Cici just made a mistake but yeah i...
Read moreI shared with the employee helping me yesterday that I was in for my wedding nails and showed her exact inspo photos (I had gotten them done at this exact salon with good results previously). This was a different person than who did my nail art in June. She cut so much of my cuticles that I started bleeding in two places (still hurts), she didn’t tell me that the design I requested (very simple compared to others I’ve seen done here) was out of her scope of ability. She tried 6 times (each looking further from my inspo photos which I had propped up for her) and would not ask any of her coworkers for help despite it being beyond her ability. I am an artist as well, and I do have compassion for things not working out, but I also think it’s important to express that to a customer and change tactic instead of what she did. She also tried to pearl chrome my whole nails repeatedly despite me saying no and explaining what I want. I do understand there may have been a language barrier but I also had pictures from this exact salon. She also tried to send me out with black from the failed nail art mixed into the cured base color of my gel. She was very rough with the files as well. I left with 2 damaged cuticles, late to my next appointment, with a brush hair cured into the gel of one nail and no nail art for my wedding weekend. I got a small discount but should have honestly not paid for the manicure. Pedicure was fine but she did try to callus scrape areas with no calluses, which was uncomfortable.
Some people who work here are wonderful at their work but I did not get that experience. I would be cautious.
Please train your staff evenly so that people don’t come in expecting a level of service they can’t provide! That sucks for both customer and is probably frustrating for the employee.
Adding to give a better idea of wear and tear: these are lifting and peeling faster than any other professional gel I’ve had. I should not have paid for this. A ten percent discount for the many errors was not enough. I...
Read moreVery disappointing experience. I won’t be returning. After getting a pedicure and waiting over 30 minutes for someone to start my gel-x manicure, I left with such poor results, five minutes later I was back asking the manicurist, Kelly, to fix it. The main issue I noticed is that the French striping was very uneven from one free edge to the next. The line would go half way from one free edge to the top of the nail to a third of the way on the other free edge on the same nail. Also, the width of the line varied significantly. I sort of noticed this when she was doing it but I assumed she could see better than I could. She was upset I asked her to fix it (I was too after being there for 3 hours), and the results were still sloppy. In order to fix it, she took the top coat and just made the line thicker all around, which I don’t like but at least it’s even now.
After leaving I also noticed that the bottom of the nails felt gummy. Apparently, this is because too much glue was used. When I went here before, Candy made sure to use a nail drill to file underneath the nail. Kelly skipped this step. When she realized the glue was clunky underneath she tried to use a regular file but did it unevenly and realized some of the French striping was being filed off. Lastly, Kelly did a poor job selecting the size of the nails and even realized this when I went back because the French line was on the artificial nail but there was a space underneath that was blank where you could see where my actual nail was.
For the time and money I spent, I am extremely disappointed by the results and won’t be returning here. I also don’t appreciate how she was clearly frustrated when I asked her to redo the line. Had I had an extra three hours and wasn’t worried about ruining my natural nails I would have had them completely redo it because my nails look terrible.
Only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is because Candy did my nails before and they...
