Zenko Tea — Attraction in West Des Moines

It was.. alright. The vibes are always immaculate there, atmosphere is great and on point. This was the most alright time I’ve ever been to Zenko - and I’ve been going to Zenko for quite some time - even the one on Merle Hay. We did come an hour before close, which I thought was plenty of time. We walked in and got two drinks - $15 total with tip. I have worked in customer service for years so I know how it goes. But the girl who checked us out was a bit hostile - kinda killed the vibe. Drinks were ok… usually they are really good! I get that if she was by herself and had to dump all the tea and wash the dishes, etc; but we came in there and the store was completely empty and she was on her phone. I was starting to lose my taste for babble tea, because most places' tea taste is too powdery or way too sweet even at 50% sugar or loaded with ice (filler). But this place, revived my love for boba tea!!!! INCREDIBLE TEA. It tastes like they genuinely brewed their tea with loose leaves. It's not just all milk, all sugar, or all ice. They've really nailed the balance. I ordered the black sugar milk tea, and without any hesitation, I can say that this was the BEST BOBA TEA I've had in my life. Drank it so fast. Not to mention... this place is beautiful inside. Great, chill study spot...

I tried the Zenko Milk Tea, and a few others. All are great. The menu is very big and includes some desserts as well.

I am a self proclaimed boba expert and can attest the boba was cooked to perfection - not too sweet, not too hard, not too chewy - just perfect.

The atmosphere is very trendy and modern - love the darker colors and the move away from all white interior.

So far my fav are: Black Sugar Milk Tea, Tiramisu Milk Tea, and Creme Brulee Milk Tea.
