I have never written an unfavorable review of a business, however this place is deserving, and I hope to deter any potential new customers from spending their money here...
I have never gone to this salon before, but since I frequent Whole Foods next door, I figured I'd give them a try. For some reason, my acrylic overlay has been lifting, so I wanted it taken off before any real damage happened to my nails. Ironic.
Upon walking in, the women at the front desk said I'd be seen in five minutes, but I lost track of time at thirty. Once the nail tech came over, he put acetone in a bowl (which he accidentally spilt on my belongings, no big deal), and told me to put my hands in. He was about to walk away when I asked him why I'd be soaking like this when I have acrylic with gel overlay... He would have known if he looked.
He then went to get his machine to buzz off the polish, and from the moment the drill touched my hands I knew something was not right. He was drilling how I imagine a five year old would. Is he even licensed? It took two seconds before he nicked my cuticle. I don't like confrontation nor speaking up for that matter, but I hoped it was a one time thing, so I stayed hush. I was wrong, because he proceeded to do so to every nail within just a few minutes.
No I wasn't moving my hands, I was still...
I then decided to get up. I do wish I got up sooner, even though I was in his chair for such a short amount of time. I asked the front desk attendant how much I owed because my nails were hurting me (kept it vague) and I wanted to leave. She was adamant someone else could finish the job, so I obliged and went to another gentleman's station to finish.
I did express my frustration to that same woman once I was done, but I didn't notice the full extent of damage until I left! ...and yes, I paid. I was not given a free soak off, nor did I ask for one. She did say I'd get a big discount when I came back for a full set, but I would never return (didn't say that to her though).
Every single finger has a nick! Do you see the indentation on my pointer finger too? Never had that happen in the 20 years I've been getting my nails done. He drilled into my actual nail. HOW?! He has left my nails and cuticles so sore-- beyond the usual tenderness of the nail bed when removing long-term acrylic.
Avalon, do better. Lovely people of WPB, stay away.
Let's just hope I don't get any...
Read moreOn May 22, I went to Avalon Nails & Spa to get a pedicure and full set with white gel polish. I waited an hour to get my nails done after I got my pedicure.
First, they moved me around to different chairs for someone to actually do them. Then, once I sat down they guy who was servicing me seem like he had an attitude and was on the phone the entire time. While getting my nails done the guy started to do dip powder and which I asked for gel before even starting. So he caught an attitude and wiped the powder off and attempted to do the acrylic with the gel polish. Not only did he not shape my nails but he polish them horribly as you can see from the pictures. Once I was done I went to the front and spoke to the heavy set young lady in the front who said she didn’t see anything wrong with them but would have him look at my nails and fix them. I know nail technicians don’t like to be told they’ve done something wrong so when I came back to his table he was already on defense. He fixed one nail and threw my hand as if he was done. He put a chunk of more polish on my nails. So I walk outside and look at them in the sun, completely unsatisfied after paying $100. I went back inside and ask if there was anything they could and she states, no refunds. I knew the guy couldn’t and wouldn’t fix them the right way so I asked if someone else could fix them but she was giving a lot of excuses as to why no one could help me. I asked for the manager, which she advised she would get him/her for me, so I sat down in the waiting area. While waiting another employee screamed no refunds and pointed to a small picture frame that states no refunds.I asked was she the manager and she said no she just does nails but it’s no refunds. I continued to wait while in my phone but when I looked up, a police officer was in my face . I explained to him the situation because again I was waiting for a manager to assist me. The office then asked where is the manager and she told him he wasn’t there and that she had called him several times. She then gave the officer a card with a phone number on it in which he gave to me.I attempted to call the number but it was disconnected.
I was so upset at how I was treated because I was unhappy with their services. I will never go back there again or suggest anyone else to go there either. They are very rude and all about money without providing...
Read moreTable number 1 is very unfair and terrible work that does not last. Two times I stop by because one nail came off, two times she repaired and two time they broke. First one lasted three days came off completely I came back, thinking that she was going to be professional because obviously her work didn’t last nail came right off. First time she charge I pay. Was a little disappointed because her job again didn’t last wasting my time and money on something that is garbage but I say, OK. Second time I went last Thursday, 14 August the same nail broke the next day I couldn’t come back on Friday because I was away for the weekend. So I decided to go back today, Monday the 18th… for her to fix her mess that lasted for one day. . It’s not worth your money if she doesn’t do a good job and you have to go back for repairs you wasting time and money with someone that does not care about your time and money. She does not care for the client that brings her business. I do nails as well and if my work last less then a week and they come back, I do not charge that’s called customer service and the clients will keep coming tip you better and they always be happy. They never leave you because I do really care that’s how much I appreciate my clients . That’s my food my home my everything so I appreciate them so much. that’s called customer service it’s been fair to the clients that spend their money there. She does not care for any of the clients to go there to get a good job that last and have something that is actually worth it. It’s not about money when you don’t treat clients with value. And let them know when your job is not good and does not last she would take the responsibility me because she did a bad repair that didn’t last. That’s the right thing to do. I was away for the weekend couldn’t come back right away so I came back on Monday thinking she’s going to realize that her job didn’t last. terrible customer service. She did lost a client and she would lose some of my friends that goes to her. Being greedy will not get you anywhere you will always be making the same money or less!!!!
Also, give yourself a favor, do not try anybody there for pedicure they don’t do anything and when I say anything is anything might as well grab your money from your pocket and throw it in...
