Black Swan Yoga — Attraction in West University Place

I booked at 10:30am class and at the time of booking the class only had 12 people formally booked for this class which is why I chose it. I literally walked in the door at 10:36 and was turned away because they stated they had a 5 min late policy. I was floored like literally 1 min outside of the policy and was lifted to and told the class was full! Like completely ridiculous. I was not even aware this studio had a 5 min policy and then to be lied to by the manager! Very upset and disappointed and they wound not give me a refund of my hard earned money. I don’t care if it’s $10. Took a lot for me to even show up this morning and to be met with this foolishness just set me off and pushed me back mentally when the whole point of me booking this class was to release the negativity that’s been around me. This was very unprofessional and I will never be back again to any of their studios. Sometimes you have to meet people where they are at and show people grace. It took a lot for me to even get out of bed this morning.

This portion is in response to management response to my post. I have emailed you about this complaint BEFORE I posted on Google. Responding to my review before responding to my email is crazy. Have better business practices. Will not be back And I don’t recommend this studio to anyone. Look at the lack of professionalism. Over being 1min late. First time coming here today for the 12pm class, my friend has a membership so she wanted me to try with her & get a membership. We were meeting here so when I got here it was 12:03 & the girl at the front desk with glasses was inputting in my info & hassling me for a donation then and there (I was planning on donating after I attended the class to see how it was) — I asked her if my friend had arrived by checking the list & she said no, so I was taking off my shoes & preparing to go in but didn’t want to go in without my friend. That would defeat the purpose of us meeting and doing the class together. She then says I can schedule both of you for the next class since your friend isn’t here yet. Then at 12:07 she said oh did you say “name of friend?”, she actually is checked in and inside already but now you can’t go in cause we don’t let people in after 12:07. I told her well I didn’t go in immediately because you told me my friend wasn’t here & then proceeded to tell me at the cutoff time that she actually was. I was excited to try hot yoga at black swan as I had heard nothing but good things about it. My daughter suggested that we try it as she was in town and it was something for us to bond over. As the class began my excitement began to wane, the instructor played drake, travis scott, and music for the club. It was fine but I assumed the session would be relaxing and not so loud that I could not even hear the instructor. My daughters uber ran late and was not able to join the class. I replied to the text of my daughter saying she was not able to join because of her being late but she was outside and told me to finish the class. The instructor told me "do not text in my class" as if I was a school child. I gathered my things and left mid class. I did not have a good experience here. I will try another location but this one has left a bad taste in my mouth.
