This place has the worst customer service, especially for a "kid friendly" environment. I invited my friend and her daughter with me to this Monkey Business because I come here often. This time when I checked in I signed in at the desk as usual and then he asked for payment. I handed him my card. We sat down while our kids played and about 30 minutes later one of the employees came up to us and stated that he made a mistake and charged us for one child only and that we still owe for the second. He said its fine to pay before we leave. We said okay no problem. Literally 5 minutes later the same employee comes up to us and says "I'm just reminding you that you need to pay for the second child." My friend and I kind of laughed to ourselves and thought "Wow, he doesn't trust that we will pay?" Keep in mind there were only a few people in the entire building. Ourselves and 2 other women with small children. We continued to enjoy ourselves visiting. After about 10 minutes or so another employee comes up to us and says, "I need you to sign this waiver and pay now!" My friend simply states, Excuse me but the gentlemen told us we could pay before I left. And she reminded him that she already went up to the counter previously to pay for a drink, he should've mentioned it then when she had her card out that time. She said she feels harassed at this point. The man (Alex Contreras, shift manager) says "It's liability that we sign the waiver." We said we understand, since you brought us the waiver we will sign it now and pay later before we leave." He said no we need payment now ($10). I said excuse me but we understand the waiver needs signed and at our convenience we will pay when we get up to leave. I told him that he was being rude and inconsiderate. We also told him that he should've been the one to tell us the first 2x about the situation, instead of sending his employee to remind us of payment. He said it doesn't matter and he "DOESN'T CARE." Finally he threw his hands in the air and says "fine! Just sign the paper now then" (his exact words). I asked him who his manager was and that I would like the contact number . He said I don't know all I have is a card. He just stood there. I said I want the card now please! He said the manager is my mom. I told him that I will be contacting her and I will pay her the $10. I told him I will let her know the service that we received. His mom (Monique Contreras) called on our way home. I assume her son got a hold of her first. These were her exact words, "I would like to hear the about the situation that just happened because there are 2 sides to every story? (WOW, and this is the manager?) So I start to tell her about the incident and she not once says sorry for the treatment or anything of that sort. She says how can we expect payment for the second child that you refused to pay? I told her I would be glad to pay and had no intentions of not paying, in fact I would've been happy to even donate, but now she lost my business. I told her she lost out on more than $10. I will never go there again. This is the worst service. I felt harassed, racially profiled and the disrespect was the worst I've ever received especially at a...
Read moreThis is a great, family-friendly and well thought out indoor play area and a fun half-day activity for when it's too hot or too cold to play outside and/or if your kiddo needs some input. Highlights:
Younger children's area kept entirely separate from older kid's play area (I believe this is a 2 and under area)
Plentiful and clean bounce features, fun climbing gym, and an indoor playset. All equipment has been spotless and well-maintained in my 3-ish experiences here.
Cafe area in case your kids are suddenly famished which of course they always are in a cafe area.
Clean and well kept art room with some fun supplies.
Not sure if I've just lucked out, but I have not experienced the claustrophobic thing that sometimes occurs in places like this (all parents know this feeling) - like there are too many people here, and you can't have fun because of the crowding. This includes one weekday morning from 10am-ish to 12pm-ish and one Sunday morning during about the same timeframe.
Cons:
The price isn't bad, but I wish this place would offer some kind of permanent pass. They recently sent me a "deal" on some kind of continuous three month pass they offer with unlimited jumping, but it was kind of steep considering it had an expiration date. There is at least one other indoor gym (We Rock the Spectrum Arvada) that offers a lifetime pass for up to three kids for the same price, making it seem like kind of a bad deal. Then again, perhaps this is how they keep it sane inside?
The bathrooms always smell like dirty diapers. I know, this is a hazard of anyplace that offers changing tables and is kid-centric, but the ladies room at least has a lingering smell of dirty diapers. Since there are pails (multiple) in there, probably someone should be focused on getting the diaper trash out every hour or two. The restroom itself also sometimes looks like a bomb went off, which again is a potential pitfall of any place that caters to young children but it's a little gross.
All in all, a really great spot for a morning out with the kids, where you can even relax to a certain extent and just watch them...
Read moreWent for a birthday party. The staff was really nice up to a point. Total chaos ensued when they announced BOTH parties had to exit the play area and go to their respective party rooms at the SAME TIME, instead of waiting 5 minutes in between. When it was time to go, the staff basically kicked us to the curb! They actually took down the birthday boy's decor WHILE he was unwrapping presents. They were unbelievably rude, and the adults were mortified. I definitely wouldn't use MB for parties, and I highly doubt the other parents will now either. Literally every other party place in the area is better and nicer (WOW!, Activate, Bounce Place, Get Air, KidSpace, etc.); they all let party guests play for at least two hours. We didn't know about the strict schedule, and my kids got roughly 15 minutes of playtime. It was super disappointing for all of us and not worth the long drive and effort it took to get three kids out the door. I asked them, and the kids aren't even interested in trying to go again when better places exist. 🤷♀️ Plus, I agree with the other reviewers that businesses that typically charge admission for parents, as if we're enjoying this overcrowded, noisy, germ-infested (probably) experience, are just annoying. Being able to bring in your own outside food and drinks is nice for those with food sensitivities, though.
EDIT: The "owners" will try to dispute my claims, but rest assured, a majority of the places I mentioned did NOT charge for non-participating adults at the time of this review (though, that wasn't even the point I was making...), and all those places include a MINIMUM of two hours of playtime for even the BASIC birthday...
