My fiancé and I love the Windfall but our trip yesterday was not so pleasant. We do understand that it was Mother's Day and was busy, to that we had no issue. However, the service we received was not so pleasant when we came in around 1 and sat at the bar. When coming in, the hostess told us that it would be a shorter wait for things at the bar so we sat there. The only time the man who was serving us at the bar came up to us was when we first sat down and asked us what we wanted to drink. He never even told us his name and he was not wearing a name tag, the whole thing was very transactional. He was not very enthused or sound happy to be there. He showed us the specials for Mother's Day and definitely didn't sound happy about the items on the menu. We got our drinks no problem but he never checked on us on his own accord again during the rest of our experience. Again, we understood it was busy but he only had 8 units of people (maybe 18 people) sitting at the bar and he checked on other people around us throughout our visit but never once checked in to see how we were doing or if we needed anything. We came to celebrate my graduation and just wanted some cheese curds and a burger, plus we got alcohol to drink and he never asked if we needed water. We sat there for about an hour or so and I tried to get his attention by making eye contact with him and lifting my head and eyebrows at him when he looked at me. Each time he ignored me and so did the other man behind the bar. There was also a girl behind the bar who seemed to be doing a lot of work and was constantly running drinks, she was working so hard so I understand why she couldn't stop for us. The man that was supposed to be serving us was moving very slowly with every drink he poured and sounded uninterested with every conversation I heard him have, which, just didn't build my confidence. I had to raise my hand and wave it at him to get him to notice me and I asked him if we could order food. He used a indifferent tone that felt almost rude and immediately told me that they are very busy with Mother's Day and that he was sorry he didn't get our order, not sounding very sincere. My fiancé and I do understand this but he was not very nice when telling us this and he sounded like he expected us to just wait for him to be ready for us rather than the other way around. He reluctantly took our order, he didn't even ask what he could get us, just was talking about how it was Mother's Day where I just awkwardly asked for our order. We waited for a while longer for our food while we noticed that others who got there after us had already gotten food, those were the people he was more attentive to rather than us. When asking for our order I asked for some pink on the burger, he seemed inconvenienced by the fact that I didn't know the correct terminology (rare, medium rare, etc). We felt a bit singled out for this, not knowing why he...
Read moreThe minute my husband and I found out about this place, we went (we were there on 12/29). How wonderful to have a restaurant like this on the north side. Reviews have been on the harsh side and I feel like might not be bearing in mind the place the economy and restaurant industry is in right now, so I'll break down the 4 main aspects of this place with labor and supply shortages in mind:
Service: it was 5 PM on a Wednesday and there was already a 20 minute wait for our table. I get it, this is a new place it's going to be popular. We got served some beer relatively quickly (all the beers we tried on the menu we thought were good) and went to play some arcade games while we waited. All service we received from hostess to bar was prompt as they could be and friendly. We got a table not long after that and our server was delightful. Busy though, and you could tell a bit overextended. For sure doing the best she could. I will say that they have a neat ordering system - she was able to see menu availability in real time and they are dealing with shortages outside of their control. Part anticipating what these first weeks are going to look like for a new restaurant, part just simple market availability. We got our appetizer so fast she was still taking our dinner order at the time - so gold star there. And they had everything we ordered. Arcade: fun pinball games. Good selection and well cared for. Even some neat older ones that all seemed to be well loved and cared for. I think it might have been the owner tending to and fussing over them, keeping the glass clean, etc. He checked in to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. I can tell that this is a labor of love and a place they are excited to be able to offer. Food: outstanding. My husband had the roast chicken, I had the Carolina Hen sandwich. The braised cabbage is the best I've had. Overall experience: 5 stars. We had a great time. Again, be patient - we aren't exactly in precedented times these last couple of years. Everyone is really quick to be past it and go back to normal with everything. These folks waited 2 years to open this place and held onto it when they easily could have just walked away. I couldn't be happier with their...
Read moreWindfall Brewing Company in Westminster strikes the perfect balance between craft-beer excellence and laid-back, fun-filled atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, the open-concept space with big windows into the brewery sets the tone with energy and creativity. Vintage pinball machines and arcade games add a nostalgic touch, creating a playful environment that makes Windfall stand out among Colorado’s breweries.
On the beer front, Windfall delivers in both variety and quality. Their lineup ranges from easy-drinking flagships like light straw-colored ales to hazy, juicy IPAs that burst with citrus and tropical notes. Beer lovers will also find depth in their stouts, including oatmeal and Belgian-style variations, along with inventive fruited sours that keep the menu refreshing and adventurous. For me it was the Snake bite. With such a broad range of options, there is truly something for every palate, whether you are a seasoned craft beer enthusiast or a casual sipper looking to try something new.
Service at Windfall is amazing. Whether it is Carter, the owner or the other amazing staff members you will be treated like family. (Even of you’re not from Milwaukee) This hospitality enhanced my overall visit and ensures that even on busy nights, guests feel welcomed and cared for.
The food menu, often underrated in breweries, is another highlight here. The cheese curds are the undeniable star—crispy, golden, and perfectly paired with one of their house beers. Alongside other elevated pub offerings, they make Windfall a destination for both dining and drinking.
Whether you’re there to sip on a flight of carefully crafted brews, unwind with friends over games of pinball, or indulge in those famous cheese curds, Windfall Brewing Company delivers. It’s a modern, energetic space where the joy of great beer, fun games, and outstanding service all come together in one...
