Downtown — Attraction in Winston-Salem

Downtown Winston Salem is becoming more welcoming to its residents of color however the Police presence during the National Black Theater Festival showed you just how far they have to go. THE way the police sat lurking at the colored was like a BLM rally not an event with celebrity presence. I enjoy the Downtown area for the most part it's peaceful, inclusive depending on which BAR you try to enter. (You get those, you sure your in the right place looks). Integrate it if you wish. Downtown Winston has so much to offer. Whether it is food or art, to clubs and nature. You can pretty much get it. Covid has stopped a lot but even with some things closed downtown Winston is one of my favorite places to be. Even if it just sitting at the top of Cherry Street parking deck with some friends look at the sky line and or walking down the art district on 6th and 7th looking at murals that local colleges have done. Downtown Winston-Salem has a nice and classic vibe. They have a lot of great breweries and restaurants to visit. They also have live music often.
