We went on a Friday for lunch. We were expecting it to be busy, but surprisingly, it was quite quiet. The staff were lovely and sat us right away, asking for drinks while we looked at the menu. I got an ice chocolate with almond milk, which was delicious, and had the right amount of milk and chocolate. The menu was extensive, with breakfast and lunch options with many dietary accommodations. I got the southern fried chicken tacos, which were $22.90, quite cheap for a meal this size. The meal was absolutely amazing! 3 generous sized tacos, with the chicken cooked to perfection, juicy, and tender with an extremely generous serving of aioli on top. I normally don't like salsa and coleslaw, but it complimented the chicken and aioli perfectly. A perfect serving of coleslaw and salsa, with a surprise of soft avocado on the bottom, adding to the juiciness. A fair warning, though, the tacos were somewhat spicy for me as an extremely white person, but I was able to handle the spiciness and still enjoy the flavour. There was no warning about the spiciness, however, so something to look out for. My grandparents got the lamb souvlaki and chicken wrap, which they both loved. I had some of the chips which were hot, salty, and crunchy, amazing! Overall, it was an extremely enjoyable experience, with food out within 15 minutes, we left within an hour. The staff were friendly and checked in frequently about our food. The atmosphere was lovely with amazing decor and lighting. I absolutely loved it, and I would recommend and go...
Read moreThis Cafe is the culinary equivalent of thinking "I'll be able to carry it all" instead of springing for the 15c Coles bag and then dropping your shopping all the way back to the car.
Never experienced a more frustrating and disappointing dining experience.
I made a breakfast reservation for 11 people. Yes, acknowledge that this is a big group. I specifically pointed this out in the booking and then again when it was confirmed by the Cafe by FB message. Turns out this was a case of over promise, under deliver.
We arrived to find there was no table ready for us and then upon placing our orders, waited over 2hrs for food to arrive. Some orders were toast. Another was museli. No excuse for such a wait.
Tables that ordered after us received their meals before us and at no point were we given an update on how far away our food was or what the hold up was.
They offered free coffee which was nice but would have preferred our breakfast in a timely manner.
When we paid, it was mentioned that they encouraged smaller tables to "order before the big table". Completely unprofessional!
The most enjoyable part of this experience was leaving.
If you're a table of 2 ppl, maybe some of these reviews apply but any groups bigger than that - I suggest buying chooks and having them lay eggs for you, it...
Read morePopped in here on a Saturday morning with no booking, it was pretty busy but they managed to fit us in on a table inside.
Considering how busy it was the service was fairly quick, our orders were taken within 10 minutes of sitting down, drinks came shortly after and our food came out within 30 minutes of being seated. Couldn’t fault the service!
I had the Pickpocket Sriracha Benedict, I’ve never seen anything like this before down Melbourne way, awesome flavours, the sriracha infused Benedict was so damn good, the mushrooms were sautéed and seasoned perfectly, the taste was superb, eggs were cooked perfectly, only thing I could fault was the hash brown as it was more like a gratin than a hash brown, none the less it still was nice. My partner had the Corn Halloumi Fritters Thieve, which were also good, her salmon was fresh, the fritters were cooked perfectly, crisp on the outside and nice and soft on the inside, the tomato relish was super tasty, all together it paired really well.
I would highly recommend this place if you’re nearby or passing through. I...
