Iris Rooftop — Restaurant in Brisbane City

We must have gone on a bad night because the higher reviews certainly didn’t reflect on our experience last night. The only person who was truly helpful was the person who sat us who wasn’t our waiter. I relate completely to everyone else’s experience or lack thereof. The food is so overpriced and the portions are miniature you would think this is a hatted restaurant. Yet our food was very over cooked and truely nothing spectacular about it. We would of had it remade if we could flag any staff down which was pretty impossible and strange considering they were fully booked for a total of 15 minutes. We booked for a business celebration and we’re ready to drop $1500 on good champagne and food but when we asked for Dom a $600 bottle, they didn’t have it (on a Saturday night) and they didn’t offer us anything as a 2nd option. The funny thing is the waiter brought out the ice bucket and tried to put it on the small table instead of getting a stand which we had to ask for, returns 15min later to tell us they had no Dom. We get a different bottle and the waiter comes back and try’s to pour the champagne in our used cocktail glasses. It was bizarre. We were very unhappy at this point as we had been there for over 90 minutes at this point so we asked for a manager who offered us free dessert which we declined. They offered us free shots and then brought us back something we didn’t want but he convinced us it was a nice “after dinner drink” which tasted like cough syrup. They did give us a different shot and apologised but I’ve travelled and been around the place and it was the bare minimum, to us it felt like they truly didn’t care if we enjoyed ourselves or not. I went out to eat with my friends, and there were quite a few of us—11 people. The food was delicious; we had the banquet menu. However, the service completely ruined our dinner. I work as manager in a restaurant so I can understand many things, like the place being busy, for example. But that wasn’t the case here; at most, there were three other tables besides ours. The girls who served us had absolutely no willingness to help or provide good service. It was a birthday, and they didn’t even put a candle on the dessert. One of my friends asked the waitress if the beer was a pint or a schooner, and her response was, “I don’t know,” and she walked away without saying anything else. I think the first girl who was serving us left because we never got a refill of water again. I wanted to order another drink, but guess what? After waiting a long time for someone to assist us and finally getting a drink menu, no one came back to see if we wanted anything else. We had to keep asking them to please clean the table because it was full of empty plates (I almost started cleaning the table myself). The waitress was visibly annoyed about it, we could see it on her face. None of the women’s bathrooms had toilet paper, so I had to ask twice at the bar for some. Even after I mentioned it the first time, it seemed like they didn’t care because the situation remained the same the second time.

such a stunning rooftop bar and restaurant🤩🥰i celebrated my 20th at iris last night and it was everything and more✨you must make a reservation as they get extremely busy and packed! i made a reservation weeks ago so everything was fine we went as a group of 7 and had such a blast🥳🤍we ordered a lot of their menu honestly just closed our eyes and pointed🤣 here are some of them in the photos above~

🐟fish tacos: had 7 of these, absolutely delicious, made to order and super super fresh fish!! so so yum!

🥩wagyu: oh my goodness, the most expensive dish priced at $44 but oh my it was delicious and cooked perfectly!!

🍞focaccia bread: fluffy, fresh and delicious! so so yum!

-✨flatbread and babaganoush dip: quite nice! i preferred the focaccia over this but the addition of the dip was pretty nice!🥰

-🥔 patatas bravas: not in the photo, but was a dish of deliciousssss potatoes with amazing seasoning and sauce🤤so so yum!!

for drinks we had a ton of cocktails and tequila shots super pretty and fancy my personal favorite cocktail was something peachy which is the white drink in the 6th photo🤩i had three of them so🤭🤣so so refreshing!~

conclusion i definitely do recommend trying iris! super cute place for a dinner and drinks! staff are so nice and funny too it gets a tad hectic ordering as it’s quite loud and hectic up there but no biggie please note, don’t expect to get full here without forking out half your wallet🥲🤣as everyone knows, rooftop bars are quite pricey with a group of 7 we amounted to $452~ but i splurged as it was my...
