Yard Doggs Fortitude Valley — Restaurant in Brisbane City

My partner and I ordered some wings and sweet potato fries for delivery to celebrate my partner's birthday. When the order arrived it was missing the sweet potato fries and the sauces were incorrect. We had eaten at Yard Doggs before and loved the wings, but unfortunately on this occasion we were extremely disappointed with the quality of the food we received. The wings were overcooked, hard and contained very little/no actual chicken meat. When I contacted the restaurant about the missing potato fries they were happy to assist, however when I mentioned that our chicken wings were inedible and hard to bite, I was told that's how they always are - which I was able to dispute having eaten there previously and enjoying very good, meaty wings! I was very frustrated by the attitude of the employee that I dealt with on the phone and was very disappointed that we had to order something else to celebrate my partner's birthday. Every time I go to the yard bird it's always a good time. The selection of beers on tap are great and they seem to change a few around every 3 or so months I find just to keep it fresh. I really like the food they have as it's seriously delicious and it ranges from probably the best onion rings and chicken wings I've ever tasted to MASSIVE burgers and pizzas which are awesome too! The staff are certainly a great element to the joint as sometimes they may have a drink with you! Something I've never seen before but it makes for a great and relaxed atmosphere.

The place isn't the biggest but if you get in early enough you can get a good spot and certainly all walks of life are welcome to enjoy themselves. As of April/May 2014 they have $5 schooners of tapped beer all day which is perfect for a Sunday sesh with a small group of friends. Giving this rating due to the fact we made a specific table booking (the one in the shade outside under the awning) for 12 people a week in advance. Upon arrival our table wasnt actually reserved as we were told "it wasnt that busy so we didnt reserve it". Our group didnt get our selected table and had to sit in the sun due to the large group which was not the best experience for us, as we were going to spend the afternoon there and maybe stay until the evening for a second round of food. In the end because of the heat of the sun, we went elsewhere. The small amount of food we ordered was indeed delicious and the beer was nice and cold. The disregard of our reservation just put a bad spin on the day for us and a simple action of a name on a table made all the difference to us and put a lot more money in the till.
