Margaret River Resort — Hotel in Margaret River

We stayed here for 4 nights and unfortunately the experience was disappointing.

The staff at reception and the bar were friendly on the surface, but the actual service didn’t hold up. Linen and towels were never changed, even though the sign said they would be replaced every 3 days. We requested it, but it never happened. For a 4-night stay, that’s unacceptable.

One evening we rang reception after hours to ask if we could reheat some leftover food. They said the bar would help, but when we went there the staff hesitated, claimed they were busy, and in the end just refused to do it. It felt like they simply didn’t want to bother, which left a really poor impression.

The room looked fine initially, but air conditioning and hot water were inconsistent the whole stay. We were told parking was allocated right in front of our room, but other cars constantly parked there instead. At night, we also heard banging noises near the bathroom/toilet window, which was unsettling and disturbed sleep.

On top of that, there weren’t even basic amenities like shampoo or toothpaste provided. For the price charged, we expected at least the minimum essentials to be available.

Overall, the resort gave the impression that it could be a decent base for exploring Margaret River, but the lack of follow-through on basics like cleanliness, reliable amenities, and promised services made our stay frustrating and uncomfortable. this place is not any kind of resort. It is part of a large partly privately owned group of units. So the room next to you may be owned by someone other than the resort and rented out privately through something like airbnb. There were approx. 10 people in the room next to ours. We were told the max in the room was 3 persons. They partied until 4-30am with extreme fowl language, and were outside our door and sitting on our car. We tried to get management to do something but they were of little use. We asked for a refund of one night out of our three night stay. We booked two suites for three nights. After 4 phone calls were not answered we finally got someone. We had tried to contact reception when we checked out but it was locked and the people inside reception refused to come out. This was the case the entire time we were there. They never answered the phone no matter which number you called. We even tried what they call the restaurant. We have not heard anything back despite sending an email through their website and speaking to two different staff members on the phone. Their excuse was that they didn't own the unit that had the party. They charged us for accommodation that was totally untenable as it was totally impossible to sleep and we could not contact them for any form of assistance.

Great little spot for a getaway. Stayed there for a weekend away off peak time. The twin room was exactly as pictured. Very clean. It was one of the resort rooms and not a privately managed room which seem to have very mixed reviews. We were located at the back of the property away from the pub. Could hear the bands on the Friday & Saturday night but not enough to disturb the stay. Was almost tempted to go check it out but I was already tucked up in the comfy bed. We did eat at the restaurant on the Saturday night - was absolutely delicious and service was fast. The ladies at the front desk even booked our dinner reservation for us when we checked in. Would happily stay there again - even request the same room. I booked through a booking site but will book direct next time. Staff were a pleasure and they had some great local knowledge of places to go and things to see. Looking forward to my next trip to the area. Only thing I could fault was the bar fridge struggled to keep anything cold enough for my liking. I forgot to mention it to the staff as we checked out though and it was not enough to knock...
