I went to the gift shop of the Pefferkorn hotel gift shop to buy a souvenir for the in-laws. The shelves where they display table cloths, runners … is very confusing and not labelled. After choosing the table cloth I wanted, I went to the cashier to pay. Unfortunately I did not realise given how the product was folded that I had picked up 3 runners instead of one big table cloth. The thickness was the same so I did not realise my mistake. Stupidly I did not check the amount on the till which would have alerted me to the problem. I made the payment and then realised my mistake. Again I understand it was my mistake to have picked 3 of the wrong items. As there were no signs saying no refunds or exchanges I asked to be refunded for the 2 extra items. They said they don’t do refunds. I asked to see the manager which is the owner of the Pfefferkorn hotel. Let me tell you I never came across such horrible customer service. I explained that after having made the payment and not having left the store, I realised I had made the mistake of buying 3 items instead of 2 and that I would like a refund for 2 items. To be clear I had not left the store after the purchase nor were there any signs saying no refunds or exchanges. Frau Pfefferkorn from the Pfefferkorn hotel told me that she can’t do a refund because if she did allow refunds then everyone would ask for refunds. To make things worse Frau Pfefferkorn of the Pfefferkorn hotel made the very bold and insulting statement that because France and the UK allow refunds that it is why their economies are doing so badly!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found that extremely bold, innapropriate and insulting of Frau Pfefferkorn from the Pefferkorn hotel to make such an inapropriate comment to a tourist buying from the family hotel store. To make things even worse for her she said nowhere in town refunds are done. This is simply not true since my mum had issues with her ski boots and the store she rented from issued her a refund. I asked if refunds would be issued if the person at the till made a mistake and she said yes, clearly it was very bad will from her part since refunds were technically possible. Again, Just to be clear I did not leave the store after my mistake purchase nor were there any signs saying no returns. She told me that she has no obligations to issue me a refund or even a voucher but she was willing to do an exception and issue me a voucher. I was planning to book 2 rooms for a week in June at the Pfefferkorn hotel since friends stayed there last year but I will spend my money elsewhere and also make sure we never spend money in the hotel supermarket nor at the hotel restaurant, nor at any other hotel or business they own during our yearly one week January trip thanks to Frau Pefferkorns customer service from hell experience. Booked the first night at this very conveniently located hotel, right across the street at the shuttle bus spot towards the starting point at Formarinsee. Unfortunately, I realised a mishap that night - my husband has mistakenly packed my daily medical pills in a separate luggage which was already sent home. I asked the front desk lady Lena for help. She noted down very carefully the specific pills I need and she called the doctor’s office the first thing in the morning, even before they officially opened their office. She also made sure that the pills were available. She has arranged to go pick up the pill right away in the morning which enabled me to get on the shuttle bus on time to start Lechweg trail. The hotel is not the problem and the wellness is also super nice. |The food or the lack of same is the problem at this hotel. The breakfast buffet was very little, not much to choose from. We even had to pay to get apple-juice in the morning and the juice was warm and not fresh and we could only get machine coffee. |The salat buffet was a disaster. It had absolutely nothing to do with a salat buffet. Very disappointing when you have been skiing a full day.
