UPDATE... Our 2nd relaxing & enjoyable Stay... This charming comfortable vintage inn was well worth a return visit. We really enjoyed the cozy lounge with its fireplace to relax, being wonderfully decorated for the holidays. It was so enjoyable to sit and enjoy the warm lights and the atmosphere over a game of chess. With the consistent quality, selection of the breakfast and access to a common kitchenette, the Chestnut Inn is a wonderful home away from home. Thank you Robin (again) for making our 2nd stay so wonderful. We can't wait to return. " Original... We've had the pleasure of enjoying a wonderful 3 day stay here in October this year and will be in our way back for a second escape from Ajax tomorrow! The Chestnut Inn was a great and lucky discovery given all the confusing clutter of options in Niagara Falls and a perfect choice for us in comparison to any of our previous accommodations in the area over the years. It has an elegant, classic, cozy and relaxing atmosphere with well appointed rooms and a shared kitchen right outside our door, which was great. Particularly enjoyable was the unique extra bed in its own cozy space with its own arch window (where one of us fell asleep a couple of times!). The large cozy covered outside deck in our Classic Triple Queen room was an added bonus. The location is very desirable as it's away from the noise and congestion of Clifton Hill yet only a five minute WEGO ride from all the attractions as the bus stop is directly in front of the property. The Inn provides convenient ample parking spaces included in the cost. We were equally impressed with the awesome hot breakfast, as well as the friendly attentive service. Above all and most memorable was Robin, our host. She was incredibly kind, thoughtful and obliging, going out of her way to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. The Chestnut Inn in now our favorite Niagara Falls destination. Thank you Robin πŸ‘ See you tomorrow πŸ₯°

I think the place needs some love. When we first booked this place we thought it would give us something that would feel like "home". With a lot of great reviews,I thought we would give it a try. The place looks completely the opposite of how it was online versus in-person. **Front desk: it smells like cigarettes including in the living area. This was a huge turn off because even the following day, the smell of smoke linger there. **I think the place needed some cleaning. The room where we stayed at has fireplace but it doesn't work. They have no aircon or fan if you're feeling hot. Some of the tiles in the bathroom is coming off completely. Bed was uncomfortable to sleep on. Good thing we only have to stay for a night. The picture I posted is the actual pic of the balcony. **Breakfast: I was worried because it felt cramped in the dining area that I'm literally bumping my elbows with another guest sitting beside me in the table. It was a very awkward moment for us. I think it's because all the guests needed to be there at the time they said. Location: I'd say it's around 20 to 30 mins walk going to the cliffton hill and/or Niagara falls and other tourist spots in the area. Overall, we're glad that we had a place to sleep for the night. I think people should lower down their expectation when booking this property.

Yes we stay here and the staff did not turn up when they said they would! And they gave our room to another family and the room that we got was terrible! My wife had to sleep 😴 on a day bed that was to short for her! And the bed I got was hard and I could not sleep! The breakfast was great but to much sugar and lots of sweet things I would not stay here again ! The place is well situated to walk to the Falls if you like to have a walk ! And in the morning I asked a young nurse from New York what her room was like and she said good! So we stayed in that room the next night but the bed was worse they had a piece of chipboard under the bed πŸ›Œ terrible 😒🍁so if you don’t like sleeping πŸ’€ stay here! They should take a leaf 🍁 out of the AA in England for the star rating

This place has so much in its favor - the property is beautiful with a WeGo bus stop right in front, breakfast is plentiful and delicious, and Robin, the onsite manager is a gem. Somehow, they manage to mess up on the easier things. For example - they do not provide shampoo - that's right NO SHAMPOO. We flew in and did not have a car so I had my choice of chasing down shampoo - and the nearest place to buy it is 15 minute walk each way, or wash my hair with soap. I took the latter and had filmy, yucky hair all day. I reported this to Robin and she said that the owner has relented and will carry shampoo in the future.

Our room was nice and seemed to have been recently redone. The hair dryer was a wall mount unit that was just sitting in on a shelf in the bathroom. While I could plug it in and use it, the motor dangled in mid air from the nozzle as I dried my hair. How difficult could it be to attach that thing to the wall?

Furthermore, they have a beautiful and inviting pool that is off limit to guests for insurance reasons - buy the insurance for crying out loud! Going on, there is a huge hanging fern directly in front of the entry door, placed so that one is attacked by the fern coming and going AND the chandelier in the dining area is strategically placed so that at least one diner is guaranteed to hit his or her head on it sitting down and standing up. Move the fern and adjust the chandelier! This place clearly has potential but I was left with the impression that the owners are either nitwits or have never visited the...
