My wife booked an 18 hole for my birthday on Sept 14 on this course. The course is a beautiful course and great views while golfing. My wife and I were paired up with an another very nice couple Mark and Elsa (not sure if thatâs how her name is spelled), but they have been to the course many times.
Only reason why I didnât give this course a 5 star is because we had people in front of us playing at a very slow pace, and the marshal/ranger thought we were playing slow, which he decided to tell us how to play faster.
The only problem is that we canât play any faster if the group in front of us was playing very slow and if the marshal/ranger was paying attention and he would have noticed the group in front of us had a couple playing with golf clubs from 1 bag.
The group behind us caught up to us on hole 4 (Par 3). This group started to yell to the group in front of us to pick up the pacer hurry it up.
Mark and Elsa told us not to be deterred as they have played at this course many times with no issue and this was the first time this had happened to them.
My wife and I didnât enjoy the course as much once we judged by the marshal/ranger on how we should play. The group behind had no golf etiquette or respect for anyone else on the course which ruins other peopleâs time on the course. It didnât bother me as much and we actually played ready golf but theyâre old fashioned and narrow minded individuals. Honestly it didnât bother me much afterwards as we played how we wanted to play not worrying about them once we realized some people will be stubborn and rude, but these old timers need to learn how to adapt and adjust to the changing times and treat everyone with respect.
We ended cancelling the last 9 holes and left early to go home as we were a bit put off and didnât enjoy golf that day as much.
Not sure I would come back here after that, but we might give it a shot again one day, thanks to Mark and Elsa the couple we were paired with. They made our time out there more enjoyable compared.
The starter and gentleman at the pro shop that day were very nice and courteous. The marshal/ranger was nice as he grabbed my bag as it fell off the golf cart for some reason when I strapped it in tight. I would to the marshal that even though you have been there for a long time with lots of experience, sometimes you forgot the things such as seeing things from a different perspective and looking at the bigger picture with groups playing golf, beginners are not always the slow players, sometimes itâs the ones who have been playing for a long time that...
Read moreBeen playing golf for over 20 years. Had such a horrible experience here with the Marshall.
We got drinks on the second hole which delayed us by about 10 mins (because they unfortunately don't have the infrastructure to pay by CC, and have to write the card numbers down by hand. The process isn't super fast, quite tedious, and it's not the cart girls fault at all).
After that the Marshall came over to us and asked "how's the pace of play?" I said it was fine, because it was. We were playing with 2 inexperienced golfers but they were in carts and not slowing us down much at all. He they told us they should play scramble because they were slowing down the game. He said that they received multiple complaints. Funny because we were only on the 3rd hole and the people behind us hadn't even caught up.
The Marshall then proceeded to follow and watch us for most holes we played. We even told him, once he approached us again that the people behind us were 1.5 holes behind. He said "oh, well they backed off so they wouldn't be playing on you"... Alright.
We got another round of drinks which took about 5 minutes this time because they at least had our CC details on hand and can copy them. That helped. Still the people behind us hadn't even caught up.
We got told again by the Marshall that we were now 45 minutes behind pace. Funny because we ended the 9 holes in 2h24 minutes. Including all the fumbling around with the drinks.
Marshall must just not want players who are inexperienced to play, or doesn't like women to play, or was having a bad day, or just not great at his job. Either way we will absolutely never come back to this golf club.
Thank you for ruining...
Read moreOver priced and under serviced. Food was ok but definitely not worth the money charge. Staff were struggling to keep up with clientele for which they charge a lot of money. Given the prices they could have done with a couple more staff. Our waitress was treating us like we were eating at a diner with rushed service and condescending attitude - ????!!! The view of the river was the only good part. Drinks were suspiciously anemic on the alcohol. My wife ordered a Long Island Ice tea which she complained about. Drink was replaced without charge but with some attitude. I split a carafe of lime sangria which neither of us believed there was the normal amount of wine. Also, and this is funny, because two of us wanted an espresso after dinner. They said the machine had just broken down however when doing this review, I saw another one a year ago that the espresso machine had broken down! Wow! We had dinner at two other establishments in NOTL. over the long weekend. Both were vastly superior in terms of food, service and ambience. You are much better off going to somewhere on the mainstreet. Very dissappointing for an expensive dinner. Would never go back and certainly would never recommend this place. This place would go bankrupt if it weren't in NOTL. Not a good business model for a restaurant coming out of Covid and with zero appreciation or respect for the customers that keep an establishment alive. I went back over a year to to ther reviews and saw many very similar reviews. Felt like a...
