Positive: Great location, you can see lake Ontario from the front porch – it’s maybe a 2min walk to the water, and that’s if you’re dragging your feet!! Location is super close to QUEEN Street – where all of the shops and eateries are. Very close and very walkable. Beautiful park is also across the street for great photos.
Residence: it’s old, quaint, but very inviting. A lot of historical perspective inside the house. Room was well-appointed with ensuite bathroom/shower/tub. Had a walkout to balcony shared with 2 other rooms. Breakfast was decent, freshly made – you order the night before. There’s always coffee/tea/water available. There are 4 options to choose from for breakfast, and they put out breads for toasting, and put out homemade muffins which were super yum.
Our host, LACE, would be the reason we remember this trip. She was outstanding!! Super helpful and just super friendly. Anything we needed; she was right there. Gave options, suggestions on things to do, places to see, eat, etc. Such a great personality.
Any drawbacks: would be the tight parking in the back of the house. You can opt to park on the street or parking lot across the street, and you’ll get reimbursed by the property. Remember this is a house, so you’ll hear feet on the wooden floors, staircase, etc. All wooden floors throughout. Some of these floors are slightly slanted – so watch for those. Also, there’s no individual climate control in room. You’re kinda stuck with what the general house temp is. Power outlets are not available right next to bed on both sides – just...

Read moreStayed here for 3 nights. It is a nice building with a good location, but it is not your typical B&B. With 9 rooms and separate tables for breakfast it was more like a hotel. Staff and owner are aloof and certainly don’t cater to guests. There is no choice for breakfast. I don’t eat beef or pork and my husband has a life threatening allergy to nuts. Although this information was relayed prior to arrival, accommodation for food restrictions was disappointing, to say the least. For instance this morning breakfast was a fruit cup with nuts and Quiche Lorraine. When asked, they made new fruit cups without nuts, and without a conversation, I received a tomato and fried onions on an English Muffin. As I had a clear view of the kitchen, I observed some of the making of the fruit cups. Both the blueberries and the raspberries were put into the cup, straight from the plastic containers they were purchased in. The berries were never washed. I assume the strawberries were the same, but didn’t see that. Rubber gloves were not worn which is fine if hands are well washed, but given that the berries weren’t, I fear that likely all food preparation is less than sanitary.
Another heads up, there are 7 parking spots for 9 rooms and so if everyone has a vehicle, parking for 2 must be on the street. Although you will be reimbursed for metered parking, theatre season can be a challenge to get a close spot.
I will not be returning...
