WORLD CLASS ACTING! To anybody with even a passing interest in theatrics in the Niagara area this is a must see attraction. Do not let the outdated appearance and decor fool you, this is one of the best theaters anywhere around. Tickets are expensive, but for what you are receiving this is a bargain deal. Personally, I recommend the balcony seating, you get a very high vantage point and the theatre is small so you are still close to the stage. I saw Witness To The Prosecution originally written by the legendary murder mystery writer Agatha Christie’s and faithfully adapted to theatre “I will keep the secret” no spoilers here. It is a murder mystery play acted out over three acts and four parts. I highly recommend this specific play to anybody interested in murder mystery specifically and/or as their first play. If this is the play you are considering, just do it you will not regret it. I cannot emphasize this enough, the sets and actors are WORLD CLASS it’s like you are watching a box office movie but the movie is with real people in real time right in front of you, but with the same amazing acting class you would...

Small, cozy and beautiful old architecture in a middle of downtown Niagara on the Lake. The show we watched is called Tons of Money. A comedy with great group of actors and actresses. Improvisations were part of the show (finally something funny and off the script) and were executed to the delight of the audience. I will apologize in advance for what I am about to say. Both my wife and I are not mobile challenged, but going up and down those steep stairs to the bar presented a great challenge. And there were groups of 70 and 80 year young folks who needed help. We were just wondering if there might be something to help alleviate this problem. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures this time, but we will be going there again very soon and I will do my due diligence, I promise. For a visitors to Niagara on the Lake: Be aware that all festivities on the main drag end at 10pm...including restaurants.... Hence...

Theater was perfect for a play, seating lighting, service all commendable.Presentation was disappointing. Planned a weekend at Niagara on the lake to catch the piece CHITRA. There was no description of the play or synopsis on the Shaw festival website The suspense was exciting. Got all worked up for the 50 min presentation with the provided headset and all.Show started with the players on the stage. continued for half an hour. For someone with no intro to CHITRA it was disappointing.Play ended abruptly,no introduction,no description was what was being presented. Our group of 6 were bored, disappointed and felt ripped off.Actors were awesome did their part very well.Whole experience was like going to a upscale fancy restaurant and being served hamburger and fries like in a...

Wonderful, small, historic theatre in the center of Niagara-on-the-Lake. There is not a bad seat in the house. They run a small bar in the basement, but space and offerings are quite limited. Plan on enjoying food and refreshments before and/or after the performance! 🥂 Staff tend to be quite cheerful and helpful. (The few who don't seem to like people are very easily spotted - and sidestepped.) 😉 The loge seats are not very high up - making this a great place to enjoy views of the entire stage. Note: the acoustics are generally quite good. They do offer hearing assistance but generally not needed if you have mild hearing impairment.

My partner surprised me with a birthday showing of "A Christmas Carol" we were privileged enough to have front row seats! It was a spectacular performance. The dedication, acting, props, and vocals were outstanding. It was surprising how fantastic the set and designs were for a home theater, I was truly blown away. The cast is wonderful, some excellent acting and singing skills! Would recommend this to children and adults alike!

A smaller theater that's perfect for intimate shows. Full concessions in the basement but there's a small stand on the first floor. It was a great setting for Gaslight (see picture). The Shaw runs quality shows in a charming town with lots of options for browsing and eating. You really can't go wrong. Parking is not cheap. However, you can find free street parking a block further off the main strip.
