Indian Masala Bistro — Restaurant in Whistler Resort Municipality

We were a group of 8. I had to get up 3 times to call them for water and other items. Definitely understaffed. Waited for the bill for more than 10 mins. We had to pay on the way out. Food was below average. Service was horrible. 18% service fee!! I wouldn't have bothered if the food and service was worth it. I definitely don't recommend this place. Spend your money where you are valued. This business doesn't value their customers.

And they have the audacity to respond with lies. The extra items we ordered were two plates of rice because the quantity was less. We never ordered whatever you said we did. Why would we? They were anyways so bad.

I'll put up the picture of the bills once I locate them. I was in Whistler for 2 days and ate in other businesses. They didn't charge us a dime as service charge! Hence, I said what I said. You don't value your clients! Instead of defending your poor customer service and pathetic food, go and work on your dishes. Make them better. The worst restaurant ever visited! We had a weekend trip to Whistler. Had an amazing two days except the pathetic experience at Indian Masala Bristo. The food is very overpriced with a very less quantity and tragic quality. Not sure if the entire dishes there is like that. Anyway we ordered butter chicken, channa masala, mixed grill, tandoori roti and Naan. Tandoori roti and naan looked same and was drenched in some oil. We ordered 2 mixed grill. It's served in a very tiny skillets and 1 didn't have even mutton pieces served wereas its mentioned in the menu and charged $40 each. Chenna masala and butter chicken was served in nano bowls and taste was also not worth. Since kids were exhausted after Gondola trip we finished it somehow. Then came the bill of $233. The bill was wrong with entries which we didn't even ordered. When requested to correct, they gave an updated one removing the wrong entries; but adding a new entry of service tax of additional $36. Seems otherwise they are adjusting that in the additional food entry. Since we didn't want to spoil our trip mood, paid and left the place.

Honestly, nothing hit the mark. Looking at all the other reviews, I hope it's just a bad day, mistakes happen. First and foremost, please provide the customers with fork and a knife. Your meat is not bite sized to just be gulped using a spoon alone. Food MUST be hot, I ordered a chicken biryani and it was lukewarm at best. Granted you won't be making it fresh when ordered, but at least heat it up properly!! This is absolutely unacceptable. Also, the Biryani smelled like roses, not in a subtle way but so overpowering that I felt like I was eating a Dessert with Chicken in it than a Biryani. Ordered a Kachumber salad, what can go wrong with it? No dressing, no salt, no seasoning, you provided plain chopped vegetables. No accompaniments on the table as well, serve staff were busy enough to not bother checking in. Kadai Chicken and Roti, the oil with which both these dishes came in, could be used to make 10 other dishes, a quarter of the Kadai chicken bowl was oil.
