I had an awful experience last night. We arrive on March 21, 2023, around 4 p.m.The smell of my room is the most unpleasant aspect of my trip. The room smells like something is on fire, so we have to call reception and ask them to check it out. After opening the balcony door and windows to get the smell out of our room, we went to our friend's room for dinner. No one tells us what was wrong with the smell in the room and what the solution was. We wait until 8:15 and then call it again. We would like to change to another room, but the reception told us there were none available. The solution that she can give us is to send the housekeeper to clean it and they have the machine to remove the odour. We went to the lobby to request that the housekeeper come to our room. After that, we left the hotel to watch the light show and returned back at 10:30. Honestly, it got worse. I started crying and coughing for that smell. This is not something that should happen in a 3-star hotel. My husband asks the receptionist to come over and smell it. The receptionist speculated that a previous guest had dropped stink bombs here. I can not accept this reason. The check-out and check-in time have five hours apart. I am already trying to put up with that elevator that smells like a garbage room. It’s all forcing me to leave in the middle of the night and my children are looking forward to the trip for two weeks long.

If you’re looking for a rustic mountain retreat with legitimate ski-in, ski-out access, Blackcomb Springs Suites checks that box. It’s quiet, tucked into the hillside, and about a 10-minute walk (give or take a patch of ice) from the upper village. So yes, location-wise, it’s doing its job. Our suite itself was spacious—plenty of room to spread out with a bed, sofa bed, dining table, and full kitchen. In theory, it’s exactly what you want after a day on the slopes. In practice, a few modern annoyances start to melt the charm. Case in point: the laundromat. A nice feature to have, sure—until you realize it requires using a third-party app that wants to text you a code just to wash your clothes. That’d be fine if the code actually worked… but it didn’t. Not on my phone, not on the other two in my party. It was like the machines were only accepting verification from another dimension. Back in the lobby, you’ll find some food and drinks available for purchase, which is a nice touch if you don’t feel like trudging back into town. Though let’s be honest—it’s mostly there to save you when you realize you forgot to buy milk. Overall, Blackcomb Springs gets the fundamentals right: location, space, and basic amenities. But don’t expect a frictionless experience. Think of it as charming... with a few quirks. Like skiing with one boot that fits better than the other.

We had a nice stay here. The staff was friendly and welcoming and upon arrival they gave us a voucher for the little shop they have. They have two large hot tubs and a good sized pool. In the morning is a complimentary breakfast that consists mainly of muffins, cereals, hard boiled eggs and the option to wait for waffles to be made (they’re made fresh 3 at a time). For breakfast I’d recommend going early to get a spot at a table. We found our room to be quiet, though the decor/furnishings is a bit outdated. There have a free shuttle that goes to the village which is helpful since it’s a bit of a ways to walk. On the day you check out you are still able to use their amenities into the afternoon such as the gym, pool and hot tub and they will store your bags for you. The pool and hot tub area opens at 10am and we went out there at about 10:30 but the hot tub wasn’t warm yet, so something I’d suggest is turning them on a bit before it opens so they are ready to use. There was 8 or 9 guests out there wanting to sit in the hot tubs but didn’t seem thrilled about lukewarm water. We enjoyed our stay here and I would stay here again.

UPDATED AFTER FALSE REPLY FROM OWNER: Service is a disgrace. Was double charged and the manager Mo, who should not be allowed near the public (was not going to name but now I will as the reply below again implied that I do not know what I was talking about) refused to apologize and implied that I do not know how to read a bank statement. I WAS CLEAERLY CHARGED TWICE for a 2 night stay over the weekend of over $700. Mo kept talking over me, belittling my intelligence and did not listen when I tried to explain it had been more than 3 weeks since the double charge. We planned for this vacation and can't afford to be charged twice and we certainly do not have the time to to be spoken to like we did not matter as customers. The only good thing was that a few days ago when I called in the morning, there was a women who was very helpful and empathetic. She took the time to investigate and immediately processed the refund that the "manager Mo" should have done in the first place. I got my money back the morning that I spoke to the woman and now that I am not owed anything I want to make it clear to anyone booking to watch out as you could be getting ripped off and management have no clue how to talk to people or investigate charges from the hotel. From the reply it implies it was a hold. IT WAS NOT. That hold for the damage deposit which was explained to me at check in, was correctly released within a a few days. It was not a MERE COINCIDENCE. THERE WAS NO CONFUSION. The woman that I spoke to clearly said sorry for the double charged and my bank statement clearly now shows refund to the exact amount that I was disputing. I WAS CHARGED TWICE. Before I was willing to acknowledge it as an honest mistake but now this hotel is clearly poorly run and with Manager like Mo speaking to people like he did to me over the phone and with replies like my review response, DO NOT STAY HERE. Those novelty restaurants where the staff are intentional rude to you treat and speak to you better than this place. At least you know you will be mistreated...

This place is the very definition of the word, KINDNESS. Our brief, but highly meaningful, experience with them is the very definition of saving one's vacation for the better.

My wife and I inadvertantly forgot to change our mobile plan to international status prior to arriving in Canada. As such, we discovered to our dismay upon landing that we had no cell phone functionality whatsoever to do anything outside of our home country. And the problem couldn't be resolved via our lap top computers-- only by using a phone (which we didn't really have now).

After spending a somewhat anxious night at our rental condo nearby, we walked into the lobby of this wonderful place early this morning. We weren't hotel guests, instead only strangers in need of some support. We were met by Jonathan and later by the manager Mo. They immediately let us use their mobile phone. They guided us on ways to manage this problem if we couldn't get it fixed with our mobile carrier. They provided us coffee on the house. This hotel literally became a place of totally re-setting our stay in Whistler.

Fortunately, our mobile phone company did resolve the problem this morning, and we're now connected. But this amazing resort did something far more meaningful. They extended calmness, warmth, smiles, hospitality, and assistance to us with nothing to gain on their end other than a feeling of being there for others when they needed it. In a world that so sadly suffers from a lack of human kindness, this hotel/resort offered it freely and unconditionally today.

We aren't staying at the hotel this time, as we have other accomodations in Whistler. But we may well stay here next time. The place is lovely. It's location is perfect. It has everything a visitor could ever want. Even more, it has the one thing everyone needs from others at certain times in life: Genuine Care. That's a priceless treasure. We won't ever forget your kindness and...

One Star Review: Dissatisfied and Disappointed

Our group of 7 adults and 2 kids booked three rooms (448, 615, 632) at Blackcomb Springs Suites, expecting a comfortable stay as advertised for 2 to 4 people per room. Unfortunately, all three rooms shared the same dismal experience.

Firstly, the sofa beds in the one bedroom primer suite were in appalling condition—completely broken and unusable. Attempting to sleep on them was futile and uncomfortable, with each part of the bed sagging and causing discomfort throughout the night.

Moreover, our stay was marred by a significant bed bug infestation. Several members of our group, including Judy, experienced severe itching, which was incredibly distressing and made our entire stay unbearable.

Adding to the frustration, the drapes in all rooms were damaged to the point of danger. While trying to use them, one set actually cut my hand, necessitating staff intervention to remove them safely. It's incredibly inconvenient and frustrating to have to call staff repeatedly just to operate basic room amenities.

Unfortunately, despite these conditions, we are forced to endure another night here tonight and plan to leave tomorrow. Our long weekend getaway was utterly ruined by these issues. It was not only a waste of money but also a source of significant discomfort and dissatisfaction. We cannot recommend Blackcomb Springs Suites based on our experience, and we advise potential guests to consider other accommodations to avoid similar disappointments.

The response from the manger below is that sofa bed is in working condition . I asked the management to spend one night with their family on the sofa bed and get bite every 5 minutes to realized the condition. Also you have a staff a young guy , who I believe was Irish ask him how many times we called him to pull the drapes up and down for us as they are not working . At least have...
