My hosts at a local university booked five nights for me in the Principado de Asturias. I knew that this wasn´t a new property, so I was immediately impressed with some updates in my room, which sported a new hard wood floor. Installers were working on other rooms down the hall, so there appears to a project going on. The management should continue further remodeling, like updating the bathrooms, which are perfectly functional but show their age.||My sixth floor room looked over a vacant lot prepared for future construction. The advantage was low level of noise from outside. I slept comfortably with the windows open, and that may not have been possible on the street side. The bed was a bit softer than I expected, but I adjusted after a few nights. The sheets were decent quality. Bathroom towels were very worn, much like the fixtures. ||Breakfast was included with the room, and I found the buffet to be sufficient without being overly generous: scrambled eggs, pastries, fruit, cheeses, and cured meats. I don´t know if the juices were fresh. I had little interaction with the servers in the restaurant, but it was clear that they were not going out of their way for any special requests.||In general, the hotel staff members were helpful, but not overly generous with their time. Simple requests seemed to befuddle the receptionists. For example, another guest asked about calling an airport van service. The receptionist simply pushed the phone across the desk to him instead of offering to make the call. Fortunately, I didn´t need a lot of help during this stay.||The location near the Plaza Baquedano and Plaza Italia is walking distance of the city center, and transit is easy to other parts of the city. This is the hotel´s most attractive feature, as the convenient place in Santiago will be good for visitors who can manage many details...

I had a pre-paid voucher and this was Ok at check-in however when I handed it over at check-out, there was some disagreement and I simply stated that they needed to call the agency who had supplied the voucher. Once senior account management persons got involved, all my problems disappeared.||||The room was spacious enough, simply furnished, yet clean and tidy. The restaurant was open however seemed to lack a wide menu and the bar was just that - well furnished however severely lacking in ambience.||||The hotel is well situated to metro services, banks, restaurants and local bars and shops. Good enough for any wish you could need.||||The airport was US$35.00 / Chile Pesos$18,000.00 The service provided by the hotel was good and acceptable.||||The WiFi is free and across the hotel. I found it to be very flaky in the rooms and spent a lot of time in the business centre suing the WiFi which was solid and more consistent.||||Road nose wasn't a problem - I was on a side near a lane and...
Read moreeven with the heat off, my room is so hott! ||They brought a fan, but it only minimally helps. ||The glass patio door opens onto the most uninviting view I have ever seen, and it won't lock. ||Somebody could easily hop onto the patio and come in at night or when I am gone. ||So this is quite dangerous with valuables. ||The internet stalls really bad, and you could never watch a movie here. ||The tv auto turns off every 30 - 40 minutes, even when you are actively watching.||It is in a good location, with Bellavista within walking distance.||I prefer a modern boutique kind of hotel, and the pompous look and feel to this place reminds of Trump Towers in NYC, which has been described as the "Beverly Hillbillies" of NYC.||I will...
