I booked a transfer from Lago Grey Hotel to El Calafate (via Puterto Natales) for $530,000 (Chilean Pesos). The transfer was booked via the Lago Grey hotel who have used this hotel's services regularly.||I am very angry and dissatisfied with the level service that was provided, highlighted below:||We were told we will depart at 08:00hrs from Lago Grey Hotel, driver arrived at 08.:15hrs afterwhich we were told to wait a further 45mins, we departed the hotel at 09:00hrs, 1 hour later than advised.|After payment at your office in Puerto Natales - we left for El Calafate. After crossing the border the driver's concentration and awareness started to decrease, the minibus was swaying on the other side of the road and on a couple of occasions the minibus went off the side of the road.|A local driver witnessed the unsafe driving and requested to stop on the side of the road, he then walked up to our minibus and informed Pablo of his dangerous driving and potential for an accident.|At Esperanza at the YPF gas station the driver was questioned by police and escorted to the police station, after 20mins at 15:30hrs he came back and informed us he was not in a right condition to drive and that he had to wait for 2 hours before he was allowed to drive. We had a flight departing at 18.25hrs from El Calafate to Buenos Aires. The driver said there was nothing he can do and we were left in a state of panic with no alternative options and a possibility of missing our flight!|We went to the police station and explained our situation, we waited at the station for 1 hour. The police then allowed Pablo to continue driving at 16:15hrs.|From Esperanza to El Calafate the driver was still in no fit state to drive, his eyes were closing and looked very exhausted. We had to give him water and chewing gum to help keep him awake and alert whilst driving.|We arrived at El Calafate airport at 17:50hrs approx 3 hours later than expected.||We are angry, annoyed and dissatisfied with the level of service provided by the company. Our lives were put at risk from dangerous driving, our flights and subsequent hotels bookings were put at risk, and the level of stress and panic caused during the transfer is completely unacceptable. Given the amount of money we paid for this transfer service we were not happy with the service and would never recommend this...
Read moreI stayed two nights at the Hotel Glaciares in Puerto Natales last October as a stepping off point for the Torres Del Paine National Park. Nice little hotel and I had a nice room on the first floor at the front of the hotel. However it was adjacent to a nice lounge area which was occupied by some very loud Italians until 1am in the morning. The following night after my complaint to management these Italians moved their party to the street in front of the hotel :-( Oh well, the room was clean and comfortable, despite being a tad small. Breakfast was sparse to say the least but at least it was available. Staff were pleasant enough but I would have appreciated some help up the stairs with my heavy case..........I am over 60 so help would have been gratefully received. The town of Puerto Natales is quaint and very pretty, plenty of restaurants with friendly staff. Worth getting up early and walking down to the water where there are many photographic...
Read moreThe location of Hotel Glaciares is a block from the sea and a short walk to the Unimarc, great restaurants and shopping. I stayed in two different rooms because I stayed on my way to and from Patagonia national park. Both times, my bed was very comfy and the rooms were very clean. They also leave little treats in your room and folded towels on your bed which I loved. The staff is very kind. The breakfast is delicious but as a gringo I was not used to so many breads and sweets for breakfast. I didn't mind the treat but I wouldve liked more fruit for breakfast. Thank you for such a wonderful experience! I hope to...
