Pros: Staff were amazing, beds were comfortable, good location Cons: SEWAGE SMELL problem, at first we thought maybe it was shoes after a big hike but we realised that there was an incredibly strong odour coming from the bathroom drains in our room. It was so horrible we would start gagging and try to open up all the windows yet there is no ventilation in the rooms. OVER HEATING, there’s only one main heater control and someone would keep putting it up to 20-25 degrees Celsius. Because there was no way to cool the room down (no fan, no proper windows) we would wake up with our faces burning because the rooms would hold heat even without the heater on. There’s great doonas and blankets in the room, for the sake of a good sleep, you don’t need the heater on above 15, even that was still quite warm.
If they fixed the sewage problem and had a heat limit for the heater (it was honestly unbearable and we’d see others with their doors open in the night trying to cool down) then I’d be happy to give this place a much higher rating. They don’t do breakfast or provide coffee/tea, bring your own towel, and they have to charge an extra 19% if paying with card - so pay with cash and byo the above.
I hope they fix the sewage issue for those staying in the future, genuinely got even...
Read moreStayed here for 2 nights after finishing the circuit because is was the only place available. We paid for a private twin (cheaper then a double) and got a full 4 person dorm room to our selves which included a private bathroom. Room was ok but there was rubbish under the bed and the bathroom was very old and tired but clean.||The hostel was empty which was strange as all the other hostels seemed to be booked out. The place lacks any sort of atmosphere or personality The staff don't speak English and lack any sort of enthusiasm or helpfulness.||The hostel is is more like a cheap hotel as there is no kitchen. Pros: good breakfast although portions were small, many common areas to relax, ok wifi, nice view from the breakfast room. Cons: rooms could be cleaner, we had no hot water one night, no atmosphere, unfriendly staff.||Would only stay if you wanted...
Read moreWe took a shared shuttle from the airport and he dropped us off right in front. Check in was nice and easy and we were even able to buy our tickets for the bus to Torres del Paine from them and they arranged a taxi to pick us up at the right time. Service was good. ||||There were many, many vacant rooms, but instead of spreading us all out a little, our room was still crammed with 8 people and 1 bathroom. I understand they want to save some money and not have to clean multiple bathrooms, but I feel like with so many open rooms, they could have done that. ||||The bathroom was unfortunately very dirty and small. Since everyone is on the same schedule to get on the early bus to Torres, etc, it got busy quickly. ||||The wifi was really bad and hardly worked in the common areas. ||||Not the best hostel I've stayed at..South America needs to get on...
