The worst hotel stay I have ever experienced!
Location is in front of the harbour which is good. The rooms are a fair size for Hong Kong but the bathrooms are very tiny. For a taller person, it’s not even big enough for a stretch.
The reason I gave this a 1 star overall rating is because of the staff there. I have never ever come across such rude, impolite, inconsiderate and disrespectful hospitality staff. And I have travelled extensively throughout the world.
From the check in process to the housekeeping staff to my checkout experience, it was an unpleasant experience. They don’t realise how rude and inconsiderate they are and they don’t even care when given the feedback.
Upon checkout, a Chinese guy answered the phone. I requested for a 1 hour late checkout because I wasn’t feeling well and I overslept and all he was willing to give me was 15 minutes to pack up and leave. I told him I need more time to get ready and pack and he told me “That’s too bad. You should have woken up earlier”.
He was incredibly rude and was not empathetic even after knowing I wasn’t feeling well.
I asked for the manager and he said he was the manager “how can I help you?” After all that! I asked again what time is the latest you can give me and he then retracted and said 15 minutes.
I got ready and left. Confronted him at the hotel reception and gave him my feedback and told him how incredibly rude he was. I asked for the hotel owner or management office number and contact person and he refused to give it to me. He said “you are checking out now and you are not welcome here. Please leave”
He refused to give me his name or the management office contact details. No accountability for his actions and didn’t even have the guts to give me his name.
To the management and owner of this hotel, please contact me and I will share more details of how rude and inappropriate this manager was.
Before I left, I asked him if he even has any decency to apologise for being that rude to me and he asked me to leave or he will call the police.
Conclusion: Never...
Read moreThis hotel is not convenient at all, with terrible service and small carpeted room. Not to mention there only being one tiny elevator and my room was on the 22nd floor. I arrived very late and didn’t have any cards with me or HK Dollar for the tax, which they stupidly ask separately at the hotel, and not included in the booking itself . They couldn’t change any cash for me, nor were they helpful in assisting. The reception didn’t want to let me go to my room and insisted that I go to find a money changer at almost 11pm at night, knowing full well there weren’t any open. So after a few minutes of telling him that my room is booked and paid for and it’s very late and I need to go to my room now, he finally let me go up. And I agreed to pay in the morning when I get to money changer. During that process I was refused a bottle of water, as I had no cash, again stating that I’d cover it in the morning. He said he can not, the frustrating part is the water was right behind him. By now you can guess that there is no water in the rooms, they didn’t have tooth brushes or slippers or anything you would expect a 4* hotel to have. Honestly I’ve been to 3* hotels way better than this. But to be refused water completely blew my mind, I could go to a store and be given water if I was desperate and had no money. There are way better options and locations for cheaper, which I later came to find out. All in all it was just a lay over stop, but a lot happened during that time. Very disappointed yet happy it was...
Read moreThere were no options for double-rooms in this small hotel so my family of 4-pax had to take two 3-px rooms on two seperate floors instead. The rooms were wide and spacious, but that luxury does come at a steep price.
A beautiful sea view at the harbour greets you the moment you enter the room. The small bathroom might b narrow for large-sized people, but the hot water pressure and toiletries were good. Room amenities were decent and the bed is comfortable. I like that the windows can be opened up a bit even though the expressway in front is noisy. Almost everything works as it should and I was particularly happy with the fast and consistent WiFi throughout my 4-day stay there.
I said ‘almost everything’ works, because the aircon control doesn’t. It seems like a central AC unit so my first night there was freezing. There is also a strict hotel policy of only allowing one additional blanket per room, even though my room had two beds.
The hotel environment is quiet and cosy. It also features the fastest elevator I’ve ever seen in a hotel, which is a godsend since the small lift was certainly heavily utilised. Hotel staff were polite and the location of the hotel couldn’t be better if you are planning to...
