Staying at Noble Park Hotel in Hong Kong was, without a doubt, one of the worst decisions I have made during my travels. After a late flight arrival at around 9 pm, I opted to book a room at this low-cost hotel (for around 450 HKD) to get some hours of rest before my trip to Macau the following morning. Little did I know that this choice would lead to a series of frustrating and unpleasant experiences.
Upon reaching the hotel around 10 pm, my hopes for a quick check-in and a chance to explore the nearby night market were quickly dashed. To my dismay, I ended up standing in front of the receptionist for a whole hour, trying to complete the check-in process. It turns out that the hotel had no direct partnership with Agoda, the platform through which I had booked the room. Instead, they relied on a Chinese third-party company as a mediator to handle the reservations, causing unnecessary delays and confusion. (Agoda - Chines mediator third party company - the Noble Park Hotel).
To make matters worse, the receptionist had a limited command of English, which made communication extremely challenging. The staff offered little assistance, and I had to take matters into my own hands and call Agoda myself to resolve the check-in problem. This ordeal wasted my precious time and energy, as by the time I finally got settled, the night market had already closed, depriving me of the chance to enjoy a local supper. As additional information, they required a deposit of 500HKD.
The room itself was shockingly small, making it difficult to even open my luggage properly. The hotel appeared aged and poorly maintained, lacking the standards I had expected. Adding to my frustration, my adapter failed to work in this hotel, leading me to believe it was faulty. However, it was only after I checked into two other hotels (one in Macau and one in Hong Kong) that I realized the issue lay with the Noble Park Hotel, my adapter works pretty well in other places.
To fellow travellers, I strongly advise against staying at Noble Park Hotel. Despite its affordability, it is a place that falls far short of delivering value for your money. The inefficiency and lack of proper communication during check-in, the cramped and poorly maintained rooms, and the inability to provide functioning electrical outlets all contribute to an overall disappointing experience. Save yourself the frustration and seek alternative accommodations.
Additionally, my dissatisfaction with Noble Park Hotel was further amplified by my eagerness to leave the premises as soon as possible. In the morning, I woke up earlier than anticipated, unable to bear another moment in this disappointing establishment. Determined to escape its confines, I even forfeited my original transportation arrangement and opted for an earlier ferry ticket to Macau. The desire to distance myself from this hotel became overpowering, emphasizing the extent to which my stay had become unbearable.
it was the worst first night in Hongkong, please stay away from this place if you did not want to have the same...
Read moreGreat location. Room is decent and clean, but the service from the front office lady was absolutely horrific. I booked with Hopper and had my booking confirmation. Unfortunately my middle name isn’t recorded in the booking, but it is on my id. So, the lady asked me to get the booking partner to add another guest with my full name, including my middle name, or I’ll have to pay an extra HK$100 for them to make the change.
I contacted Hopper and asked them to add another guest, which they kindly did and tried to contact the hotel. The front office lady mentioned that Hopper needs to contact the business partner for then the business partner to contact the hotel for the additional guest (which is my name). After being on the phone with Hopper for a very long time (international call), then the front office lady, whom refused to give me her name (she wears glasses), asked me to pay HK$100 and she will refund it to me, once the email from business partner comes through. I told her I can either pay it on my card or Australian $, as I didn’t have any HK$ yet. She said she couldn’t accept AU$, and if I pay on my card, there’s a deposit for HK$400 too, so it will be HK$500 she’s freezing on my card.
At the point, I don’t care anymore, I just wanna check in, so I gave her my card. Not sure what happened, but the machine didn’t work and she changed her mind, asked me to pay in AU$, which she said she couldn’t accept earlier. Again, at that point, I didn’t care anymore, gave her AU$100 so I could check in.
I asked to speak to her manager, she said there’s no manager. I asked to speak to the owner, she said there’s no owner. She just told me to send an email if there’s any issue and didn’t allow me to speak to anyone else. On top of that, she was talking about me to her colleague in front of me in another language! Not just once, but at least 3 times! That was really rude. I can’t believe someone like this works in a customer service role. Will never come back here, will not recommend this hotel to anyone at all, and will put my reviews on every single booking platforms available out there. If you are the manager or owner reading this, good work on...
Read moreUnfortunately, we had a very bad experience, but we had no choice as we had already checked in. The washroom smelled awful, the room was extremely small with barely enough space to move around, there were no cabinets for clothes, and the lobby smelled like a kitchen. I don’t want to say this, but this was our experience.||On February 21, 2025, we checked into the hotel. At the reception, we provided our details, and the receptionist informed us that a security deposit of 500 HKD per room was required. We had booked two rooms—one under my name, Jaicen Arriane Gloriana, and the other under my mother’s name, Pacencia Mendoza Tan. I asked if I could pay the deposit in cash, but the receptionist refused and said they only accepted card payments. So, I handed over my card, and 1,000 HKD (for both rooms) was charged.||On February 25, 2025, we checked out, and I asked about my security deposit refund. The receptionist informed me that the amount would be refunded to my account within two to four weeks. However, it has now been nearly four weeks, and I still haven’t received the refund.||I contacted my bank, Gotym Bank, to inquire about the 1,000 HKD charge made by Noble Park Hotel on February 21. They confirmed that the payment was fully processed and was not a pre-authorization, as my card was charged immediately upon being inserted into the machine at the hotel reception.||I asked my bank if they could process a refund, but they stated that the money can only be returned if the hotel initiates the transfer. Only then can the bank proceed with the necessary steps.||This experience has been incredibly frustrating. The hotel staff are completely unknowledgeable about pre-authorizations. Now I understand why they insisted on only accepting card payments for the security deposit—so they could charge the amount and delay or refuse refunds while falsely claiming it was a pre-authorization.||I called the reception they didn't even speak English and no one understand my complaints about my security deposit. It's very frustrating and dissapointing. Bad customer service until now I didn't get my money for they security deposit that I paid at...
