We recently stayed at The Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and the entire experience was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we booked, everything felt thoughtfully planned and executed — truly a perfect blend of history, luxury, and personalized service.||First, the service at the hotel was both warm and professional. We reached out to the hotel in advance, and the booking team responded quickly and politely via email. When we arrived, the front desk immediately recognized our booking for executive room type and warmly escorted us to the Gold Lounge for check-in. This level of attention was a great first impression.||In the Gold Lounge, I met the incredibly attentive and kind Chief Concierge, Marjory. She not only helped us with the check-in smoothly but also, since our room wasn’t ready yet, offered to show me around the hotel. She took the time to walk me through the Nine Nations Suite and the riverside suite, giving me a glimpse into the elegance and history of the property. Although we weren't upgraded at that moment, I'm sure I'll return to experience it in the future.||Marjory also arranged a special birthday celebration. She personally brought the room key to the dining area and coordinated a birthday cake to be delivered to the Longfeng Hall for lunch. The whole setup was so thoughtfully done, and it made our celebration feel very special.||She also gave us a tour of the hotel and shared some fascinating stories about its rich history and the different areas. Her knowledge and passion really made the tour engaging and meaningful.||We had a delightful time at the jazz bar, where the music and ambiance were perfect. While we didn't have a specific arrangement, the performance made for a great evening and added a nice touch to the celebration.||At the end of the evening, the Old White-Collars played the "Happy Birthday" song for my mother, and the atmosphere was truly magical. She was so touched and moved by the gesture; it made us all feel incredibly valued.||The rooms at The Peace Hotel are beautifully maintained and stylishly decorated. Whether we stayed in the Fairmont Suite or the deluxe room, everything was clean, comfortable, and well-organized. The welcome fruit in our room was fresh and delicious, setting a cozy and welcoming tone from the start.||The Gold Lounge was another highlight — the food was exquisite, and the breakfast service was particularly well-structured and attentive. It was a pleasure to enjoy the amenities and surroundings.||In summary, this was an absolutely unforgettable stay. The service, the history, and the attention to detail made every moment special. We can't wait to return and experience more of what The Peace Hotel has to offer. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and elegant hotel in Shanghai —...
Read moreWhat a luxurious, rich & unexpected exquisite experience I had by the informative tour given by the lovely Hebe Zhang as she enthusiastically and knowledgeably shared the history of the iconic Fairmont Peace Hotel on the Bund with its vintage charm of old Shanghai glamour. It’s like magically stepping back in time in awe and respect…
My family and I are deeply appreciative that the professional and wonderfully personable Hebe Zhang was extremely patient, immensely understanding and incredibly kind with her generous time as we needed extra help with my dear parents who needed special assistance with mobility. Thank YOU so very much, Hebe Zhang for a most memorable experience.
Kudos to the amazing and talented Chefs at The Cathay Room which boasted visually exquisite; magnificent spread & scrumptious feast that we all enjoyed tremendously and with much deep gratitude. Thank YOU so much.
With the glorious views of The Bund at the balcony and the elegant ambience, the memorable experience was further elevated by the attentive and diligent servers, Clinton and Aden. Deep thanks to the professional, friendly and kind Clinton and polite and hardworking Aden who catered to our every needs; wants and beyond throughout my dear family’s exceptional lunch.
I am very grateful to have an exquisite souvenir (worth the affordable price in my opinion) at the gift shop, which showcased various curated luxurious merchandise (in relation to the opulent and historical hotel) and thank YOU so much to the friendly and warm staff Lili who enhanced my shopping experience.
I am immensely captivated by the grandeur, magnificence and vintage allure of the iconic and historical hotel (with modern, exceptional and very clean restrooms) and am massively impressed with the excellence and perfection in service by ALL and EVERY courteous, friendly, kind staff with all their warm smiles and ready to help me, even as I lost my way to the gift shop!…

Read moreWe booked a little staycation for our wedding anniversary. We had a Gold room on the 6th floor with access to the executive lounge. The afternoon tea set was cute and tasty. The happy hour drinks selection was limited, and the buffet was a bit disappointing. It was japanese cuisine but it was a little strange, especially the fruit sushi instead of sushi with fish... Sadly, there were no desserts available besides the weird fruit sushi. It was quite bad timing for us because the Shanghai marathon was this weekend and they closed the streets at night around the hotel which made it difficult to enter in the evening. They also closed the rooftop because of the marathon which was disappointing because we booked the hotel to enjoy the view. At night time we heard a lot of sound testing for the marathon stage that kept us awake. In the early morning there was again a lot of noise because of the marathon. I wish the hotel would have mentioned this and offered to change our room, while I was booking. I called the hotel booking depar**ent two times to make the reservation but they did not menthon this. Also when we were checking in they did not mention it until we told them we would be going out late in the evening. I expect better service and information from a time honored hotel especially when I'm checking in at the executive reception. Another key feature we missed out on this weekend was the long running jazz band in the jazz bar which is anothee iconic reason for going to the hotel. Be warned that the jazz band is not playing these days and they do not know when they will return. Overall the room was clean and nice. The bathtub and furniture in the room had a nice feeling to them. However, the pillows were too squishy and did not offer any...
