Concerning cleanliness: where to start.... our room was very dusty, stains on the carpets and chairs, and surfaces, hairs in the bed, we had to roll the carpets and put them away because they were disgusting, there was a lot of dust, hairs and what seemed to be dried bits of skin under the carpet. I had to wash it with a bathcloth to feel comfortable walking barefoot. I was not comfortable opening my suitcase in this environnement at first. When I opened the curtains, I found 3 insects. The shower has orange mold all around, and I found pubic hairs sticked to the floor around the toilet bowl. There was water sitting under the glasses in the toilet. So, overall: ew. ||Concerning service: the staff barely understands english, and i'm just lucky to travel with my boyfriend who speaks mandarin. The room service is done at 8-9 am in the morning, and the cleaning ladies shout loudly to each other in the corridor, they use the vacuum and slams doors, so forget any chance of waking up later than that. They even knock on your door to ask if you want roomservice even if your button "do not disturb" is on!! Its like they dont know its there for a reason. We wanted to use the laundry service in the basement where you can do your wash yourself (cheaper and quicker) but the only way to do so is to use alipay and the signal is so low down there that it doesnt work. We asked for help from the staff, but any of the guys at the counter knew how it worked. They offered us the other laundry service made by the staff outside of the hotel but the prices for each piece of clothing are impossible. The coffee machine in the room was also broken, but at this point, we where tired of asking for anything and not receiving a decent service, that we bought instant coffee at the department store... ||The only positives points are the quality of the duvet and pillows, and the fact that you cant hear a sound from the city from the windows. But ironically, you cant really appreciate it due to the shouting ladies in the corridor each...
Read moreWe had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The location is nothing short of perfect just a five-minute walk from the iconic Bund, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing and soaking in the stunning waterfront views. Additionally, the hotel is situated on a street lined with shops, restaurants, and establishments, giving us plenty of options for dining and exploring right outside the door. Whether you’re looking to experience the hustle and bustle of the city or enjoy a leisurely stroll along the Bund, this location truly has it all. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. From the moment we arrived, they were extremely welcoming and attentive, ensuring that we felt at ease. They made sure that our arrival and departure went smoothly, which was especially appreciated after a long journey. The fact that the reception staff spoke English was a huge plus for us, as it made the check-in process quick, easy, and stress-free. Their friendliness and professionalism truly set the tone for the rest of our stay. We stayed in the Elegant Business Room, which exceeded our expectations. The room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed to include all the amenities we could need during our stay. From the comfortable bed to the well-appointed bathroom and workspace, everything was tailored to ensure both comfort and convenience. The attention to detail in the room’s design made it feel luxurious yet practical, which we greatly appreciated. Overall, our experience at this hotel was exceptional. The combination of its prime location, outstanding service, and comfortable accommodations made our trip to the city even more memorable. Whether you’re traveling for business or leisure, this hotel is a fantastic choice, and we would not hesitate to stay here again...
Read moreAs mentioned in my previous review, we stayed at this hotel for 4 nights during our first stop in Shanghai and 1 more night in our second stop. This is the review for our second stop. When we checked in the 2nd time, there was no warm welcome. In fact, the receptionist had a sour look on her face, not friendly or welcoming at all. We don't remember her name, it was Fanny? Fandy? Anyway, she said that our bed was 1.5 meters and asked if we wanted a bigger bed at 1.8 meters. We realised this was somewhat similar to how when we first checked in during our 4 nights stay. This was exactly how the hotel reception would "persuade" you into paying more for your room. They will either say things like, "Your bed is small. Do you want to upgrade?" or "Your bedroom is facing the aircon vents. Do you want to upgrade?" All this scheme in getting guests to pay more than what they have already paid for is really unethical. We have stayed in many hotels in many countries and have never come across such tricks before. On top of that, we stayed at several other hotels during our visit to China, and all other hotels gave us excellent service. This was, unfortunately, not the best. After these 2 experiences, I'm sorry to say that we will not return to this hotel the next time we...
