Hotel Casa del Coliseo — Hotel in Cartagena

What an incredible experience! My husband and I stayed at Hotel Casa Del Coliseo for our anniversary, and I cannot say enough about it! The building and decor are gorgeous! We stayed in a Superior Double Room with small balconies that overlooked the corner of the street with stunning view of the beautiful buildings and streets surrounding it. The bed was comfortable, and the a/c and ceiling fan brought much needed comfort from the early summer humid heat. The bathroom as spacious and also beautiful. Hot water was always plentiful.||The breakfast was always delicious, and the service was great! We like to have our own private happy hours in our room, which was simple to pull off because there is a small convenience store right across the street.||But most of all, I have to be sure to gush about our host and concierge, Martin! He greeted us with a smile a sweet fruity beverage and showed us so many restaurants and other sites for us to experience during our stay. He was there every day to answer our questions and provide more recommendations. Every single restaurant he suggested was PHENOMENAL! I’m already planning my return for a girls trip within the next year, and I wouldn’t dare stay anywhere else!||As others have stated, there is a bit of noise from the street, but from what I’ve experienced, that would be true of any place you’d stay within the walled city. The streets are lively every night. The only other thing I’d bring attention to is that there is very little storage. The large chest that holds the mini bar, safe, and refrigerator does have a bar on top with hangers, but it doesn’t provide space to hang long maxi dresses. We both lived out of our suitcases, which was totally fine for us.||I cannot wait to return to Cartagena and stay...

This hotel needs really to work his approach to the guests because how they operate is less then a 2 stars hotel They do not have idea about customer service, and they have done repetitively bad mistakes and at the end of my check out charged me for 1 bottle of water ( instead of offering it despite all the mistake s that have compromised my stay). I was charged an expensive rate for a room in the basement which they told me they would change the day after. The day after I have packed all my belongings as we agreed I would need to change room. When i arrived to the hotel at night, I was told there was a mistake and they would not change my room. I had an early check out and spoke to the reception to organize a packed breakfast, I was told “ no problem we will make it” ready for 6.50. In the morning not only they did not have breakfast packages for take away, but they did not make my breakfast and the receptionist said i have to wait 20 minutes ( when they knew well my timings to leave to the airport. Nobody apologized. I was charged a bottle of water fro me the mini bar. What a terrible management. They really made me feel like “ get the worse we can give and leave”. I will never come back to this hotel and I do not recommend it. They are expensive but not worth the moment they charge because of bo attention to small details.
