American Steak & Grill House Zagreb Restaurant — Restaurant in City of Zagreb

Used the SelectBox voucher on a meal for 2, which meant we got a fixed menu: steak, onion rings, soup and a salad.

The soup, salad and onion rings were okay, but the steak was horrible. Cooked almost perfectly, but the meat was way too chewy. My teeth and jaw hurt for the rest of the day after eating here.

The service was not good either; we had 3 or 4 different waiters. We had to ask twice for the bill and eventually had to go to the bar, because no one came to us.

When we saw the name "American steak & grill house" we expected an american themed restaurant or something fun, but in reality it's a boringly typical hotel attached restaurant with formally dressed waiters.

I had meal here for the last night in Zagreb, i only went here because i really wanted a nice steak. i thought "american steak house & grill" was a clear indication of a great quality steak, i was wrong. This was the most expensive place i ate in Croatia (Zagreb, Jezera, Split, Hvar, Dubrovnik). My meal was a rump steak, potatoes & vegetables costing 180 kuna (over £20), i was constantly asked if i wanted extra salad (why would i want salad with vegetables?). The decor did not represent this restaurant well either as it was like an old style canteen. An a la carte menu maybe more suited. This did not live up to expectations. service was very slow even though there was around 6 other guests in the restaurant at the time. It took around 1h to get the food. Burger was very dry and didn't even have any sauce on it. The fries where sloppy and limp. The tuna steak was waaayyyy overcooked and was ordered as medium rare but came out as well done+++.
