La Vita e Bella 4 - Lucarica — Hotel in Dubrovnik

We booked this hotel in the last minute as our original booking Hotel Prijeko Palace was cancelled by the property without informing us. After doing the booking through booking.com, it took us lot of time to check-in as the check-in was done online through telephone calls and messages. In the end the key was also send online as they didn’t have a reception or staff to attend.||Even though the property is shown as a hotel, it’s an apartment in the heart of Dubrovnik Old Town. It’s well about 350 meters from Pile Gate with all the great historic buildings, Dubrovnik Cathedral and Old Town Port just around the corner. |The worst part of this accommodation is that you have to climb about 100 steps as the apartment is on third floor. It is not easy to carry all the baggage up through the narrow staircase without proper handrails and there is no assistance provided as there is no staff at the property.||Rooms are air conditioned and come with a TV, Bose speakers, fridge, coffee/tea maker, kettle, locker and a desk. Bed is so close to the toilet, which didn’t have a proper exhaust. Bathtub is next to the bed. Toilet had smoked glass doors and with lights on, one could have a faded view of what’s happening inside.||There were too many big pillows of same size, but, none of them were comfortable or suiting our requirements. Though the room is said to be modern, it looked so clumsy with the bed, furniture, bathtub, too many pillows and too many lights. The entire wall was painted with some dreadful black and white paintings. ||Bathroom was provided with free toiletries, bathrobe, slippers and hairdryer. The toiletries were of nice quality. There was no hook or hamper in the shower area or outside to put the wet towels||Check-out process was not explained and we had to call the contact number, who asked us to leave the keys in another building, which was a short walk from the apartment. ||There are plenty of restaurants and bars within close proximity. ||Overall, it’s well located, however, I can’t think of returning considering the 100 odd steps to...

There was no hot water in their largest suite and they pretended to fix it without success and after two days we asked to leave because we were unsatisfied and they told us they agreed to refund it and in the village they didn't do it!...
