Had an incredibly disappointing dinner. After searching all day for good seafood, we settled on bokar. The wine was great! And I honestly can't complain about the service. The two waiters were attentive and great at their jobs. We ordered shrimp tacos and the bakar speciality pasta for a main. When the tacos came out I was honestly confused. BLUEBERRIES on my shrimp tacos? I thought they had misplaced olives. But no, maybe I'm wrong, let's give it a try. I bite into this 'taco' - it's a tiny wrap with some cooked from frozen tempura with apple sauce and blueberries. I thought I was in a hellscape of starters and dessert in one. Had they mixed the ingredients up and thought I was having a hog roast? I drink enough of the lovely wine to forget about this abomination of a child's imagination for a starter to have a fresh start on the main course. seafood pasta. My favourite dish. As the plate is placed on the table I see 4 blueberries staring at me like a misplaced condom in the cutlery drawer. I think to myself, just forget the blueberries, some people have fetishes that you don't understand. I take a mouthful...hmm.. nothing.. let's try again... Hmmmm am I that drunk? ... Maybe salt will help?... Oh the salt shaker isn't working, il do it manually... Try again. Wait... What is.... CRUNCH. Great, I've either subconsciously decided that my tooth is a better alternative to this homogeneous mush or Im chewing on a fraction of the erroding shoreline. Honestly as much as I hate chewing a small beach, it gave me a sense of intrigue for the first time in the main course. That was it. I sucked up the rest of the bottle of lovely wine, leaving the reminants of what can only be described as a terrible experiment by a 7 year old with mild-to-severe ADHD before paying the equivalent of my mortgage and leaving to buy an absolutely stunning burger around the corner.
I implore anyone who is looking for a good meal to think twice. However if you are looking for an experience you and you wallet...

Nestled in the vibrant streets of Zeljarica , Restoran Bokar beckons with promises of culinary excellence and gastronomic delight. Our recent visit for lunch to this esteemed establishment left us enchanted and eager to sing its praises.
Our culinary journey commenced with the Burrata Salad, a masterpiece of simplicity and sophistication. The creamy burrata, delicately nestled amidst a vibrant ensemble of cherry tomatoes and seasonal fruits, was a celebration of freshness and flavor. Each bite offered a harmonious interplay of textures and tastes, further elevated by the drizzle of balsamic reduction and olive oil, which added depth and complexity to the dish.
For our main course ( light lunch :)), we indulged in the Shrimp Seafood Tacos, a symphony of oceanic delights encased in a crisp shell of baby leaf lettuce. The succulent shrimp, perfectly cooked and generously portioned, stole the spotlight with their natural sweetness and tender texture. The zesty lemon dressing provided a refreshing contrast, infusing each bite with a burst of citrusy brightness that danced on the palate.
Beyond the culinary delights, the ambiance of Restoran Bokar enveloped us in a warm embrace, inviting us to savor each moment. The attentive service and attention to detail further enhanced our experience, ensuring that every aspect of our meal was nothing short of perfection. Wines are amazing and waiter knowledge about them is perfect. Definitely try Posip Grgic.
In conclusion, Restoran Bokar is a culinary oasis where passion meets perfection, and every dish tells a story of craftsmanship and dedication. Whether you're a connoisseur of fine dining or simply seeking an unforgettable culinary experience, a visit to Restoran Bokar promises to leave a lasting impression on your senses and your soul. Thank you all, and we are definitely...
Read moreArrived with no reservation and were told by the waiter that we could have a seat in the steps next door and he would bring us a complimentary drink while we waited which was so nice we would’ve been happy to have stayed there and eaten ^_^ sadly this was the height of our experience and what made me give the service a third star. My friend ordered a medium rare steak which was more rare than medium but he’s not one to send food back even if just to be cooked a little more but he really shouldn’t need to. I ordered the mussels, a dish which I have often but have never had with salsa on them :/ it did state on the menu but I had no idea what to expect and thought maybe it’s a special Croatian dish which I’m always happy to try new things. However, and please see a previous review for a photo, it looked like someone had been very ill all over the mussels and tasted only of tomato pasta. I couldnt eat it so had to send back for one without the salsa. The waiter said they were only there to make us happy so wasn’t rude or anything. Second attempt came back promptly (not too fast) but now it looked like there was watery porridge on them (the description I used at the time probably isn’t suitable for an online review so porridge will have to suffice) 🙈 absolutely bizarre meal, you can’t put salsa in with white wine sauce it curdles and you can’t just sprinkle unmixed garlic powder over everything I just didn’t understand what was going on and the site was so unappealing I ended up leaving half of it as I didn’t want to send it back again 😬 the waiter asked if everything was ok to which I just said yes which is on me but again, I feel like customers shouldn’t feel the need to send back food once let alone twice! Disappointing. Also the tables were also so close together it felt like we were out for dinner with our...
