Lapad View Apartments — Hotel in Dubrovnik

Beware, this is not what it seems. We were expecting an apartment, as the advert says, however, this is a very shabby room in a (friendly) lady's house. She doesn't speak English. The 'kitchenette' is a very old hot plate on the balcony. The house is in the middle of a fairly run down housing area in Dubrovnik and the 'parking' is on a very narrow, very steep road - don't bring your own car here, it is certain to leave with scratches and bumps. We were so disappointed and felt so awkward in her house (overlooked by many locals) that we left and checked in to a local hotel. What we'd hoped would be a reasonably priced stay in Dubrovnik in an 'apartment' turned into a nightmare expensive dash for alternative accommodation. We're struggling to get a refund. Comfortable bed, air conditioner worked well, but the kitchen was just a 2 burner portable cooker outside. I would say this is more a room, rather than apartment. |There was no cafe nearby, as suggested in advert. It was around 10 minutes to walk down to restaurants or beach, and with a lot of steps. Not recommended if you struggle with steps. It was 3.5 kilometre walk from the port. Should have got a taxi.|We finalised our bill with the owner but were asked to pay cash, which we didn't expect, which was inconvenient as we didn't have enough with us and had to go out to find a machine to get more money out. Выбрали мы этот отель исключительно из-за цены, наличия интернет-подключения и парковки. На деле отель оказался жилым домом, в котором сдаются некоторые комнаты с "видом на море". Самого моря не видно из-за крыш домов следующей линии.||Парковки около дома тоже нет. Есть зона платной парковки на соседней улице, но там тоже нет парковочных мест. Wi-Fi не работал.||На пороге нас встретила пожилая женщина, не говорящая по-английски, которая жестами попросила нас подождать и позвала, видимо, свою дочь, которая поселила нас, забрала паспорта "на оформление" и ушла. Когда мы обратились к ней (через очередной сеанс пантомимы с бабушкой) с просьбой вернуть документы, паспорт она вернула с явной неохотой и только после довода о том, что нам необходимо обменять валюту.||В 10 вечера вернулся муж этой девушки и начал чинить Wi-Fi. В течение часа у него это не удавалось (и так и не удалось), но беспокоил нас и других гостей он каждые 5-10 минут.||По моему мнению, это место слишком дорого даже для такого переоценённого города...
