We really enjoyed our 3 nights at this guesthouse. The couple who own the guesthouse were lovely, sitting and chatting with us about how Hvar has changed over the years and taking a real interest in our lives too, often people are too busy to sit and give you their time like this.||Rooms were clean and spacious, air con was good and we had a fridge and towels provided. Would have been nice for bins to be emptied and toilet roll replaced without needing to ask for it in front of a patio full of other guests.. It did have a kitchen unit provided although this had been stopped from working due to people previously complaining about food smells in rooms - which we completely understood and probably wouldn't have even used - would have been nice to have extra surface space and the hobs therefore removed but no big deal. if we wanted to cook they had a communal kitchen on the terrace which looked good.||One thing people do need to be prepared for is the amount of steps to get to the guesthouse - we counted one day - 180! but we just got used to it and said it was contributing to burning off our pizza and cocktails! Bit of a challenge with rucksacks at mid day though!||A little tricky to find but ask at tourist information and they will point you in right direction. We would recommend...
Read moreOur experience in this hostel (it's a youth hostel with private rooms ), which had started normally, ended up in a both unbelievable and absurd way. The second and last morning we asked for a coffee (a moka one - whose price is infinitesimal compared with the fares we paid) since we didn't have coffee with us. We have been answered by one of the owner (the woman) "the coffee is mine" in a very rude manner. Thus we replied to let it go and not to worry. Finally we were given the coffee but with an attiude we would not expect from a average 50 years old woman. Ten minutes later, arguing with "the caffeteria is mine" this unbearable person asked us to bring her dowstairs from the kitchen the coffee machine. We always behave in nice manner, differently from the average guests of this facility: 20years drunken people. People like this should not run a pension or rather they should start behave in a decent way. ||To be completely honest her husband (Luke) has always been nice.||Don't go there unless you are 20 and wishing to get drunk all day and night long and you don't care about...
Read moreStayed here with 3 mates August. We had a 4 bed private room, 4 single beds. Clean rooms and facilities. Private en-suite shower room/toilet.||About 7 minute uphill walk from centre of town.||Positives: clean, comfortable, friendly and helpful staff (husband and wife team invited us to share a couple of bottles of wine one evening, advised us on places to eat, drink and visit and organised a boat hire one day). Decent free wifi, lovely views.||Negatives: small but clean kitchen closing at 10pm each night. No alcohol in rooms but permitted in kitchen/dining area till 10pm. Must have had some bad experiences with drunken folk in the past because these guys were quite strict on "the rules' but sound enough with us. Air con additional fee; 1 euro per person per day. Cash payment only, no card facilities.||Would 100% recommend...
