Levanda Accommodation, Split — Hotel in Grad Split

Wanting to sample staying at a hostel, I chose this place. It was going to be my first hostel stay ever and felt a bit anxious obviously. However, Sinisha and his team made my first hostel stay experience a truly pleasant one. Sinisha arranged the airport pick up for me and that went really smoothly. My arrival was a day late and a different type of car was provided where the fee was a little higher so Sinisha checked with me first to make sure I was okay with the price increase. Upon arrival at the property, he greeted me downstairs and helped with my luggage up to to the apartment. The entire place was really clean, charmingly furbished, well ventilated and well kept. The cleanest of all rooms were the bathrooms and that indicated true cleanliness! He also had lots of useful information. While I was there a male guest at Sinisha's place had his belongings stolen when this guest was out drinking and fell asleep on the beach. Sinisha was really professional in helping the guest and handling the matter (getting the poor guy to the police for further assistance, etc.)||The most touching gestures were 1. Sinisha's help in making sure my booking was only for two nights as my flight was delayed and that I would only pay for two nights (instead of three as originally booked) and 2. allowing me to leave the luggage at the guesthouse keep the locker key until 2 pm as I was waiting to meet friends arriving from abroad for onward travels. I was able to enjoy another morning in Split conveniently otherwise I would have been dragging my bags with me around the old town!||Despite the towel provided being rather small, I really cannot find any other things to "warn" readers about this place. I loved staying there and really enjoyed the visit. ||Thanks again to Sinisha and his team. Guesthouse Levanda is excellent as a host...

I chose this place to stay (4-7.09) because of convenient location and the cleanliness rate based on the reviews. Indeed, good location but unhygienic place. It seems clean but mattresses are barely cleaned. I was severely beaten by bed bugs and it ruined my overall health on vacation. The owner of the flat wasn’t surprised that much even when I showed a bed bug, he started to tell me that it was a mosquito which wasn’t true. He offered a different room where supposed to be clean and I stayed, just not to waste time for searching a new place. Same flat, different room - again got beaten by bed bugs. Later I had to through away a few clothes and my running shoes just not to transfer them to my flat. And I visited a doctor who counted a 47 bites on all body. I will post only a photo of my hand just to showcase how painful it was. So, if you decide to stay at this place, just mind to be careful...

The hostel is right next to old town, approximately 500 meters away from the Roman Diocletan's Palace. I booked a bunker bed for 5 nights. The receptionist is a cooperative person. However, the services in terms of hygiene could be improved. For example, the bed sheets should be changed after at least two days without asking to change. Also the washrooms were not cleaned a few times during my stay. Otherwise this is among the best hostels I have...
