4 Coffee — Restaurant in Grad Split

Words would never seem enough to trot out what I feel about 4coffee shop. While having tasted plentiful of Speciality Coffee Shops around Euope (Athens, Budapest, Amsteram, Berlin....), this place holds the golden prize and a special place in my heart. Besides my hometown of Athens where I have some interractions with Baristas, Dado was the first foreign coffee maker who opened their arms, knowledge, hospitiality by greeting me as if I was his friend. Dado takes cautious care of every single customer who comes by his coffee shop, and that can contiguously be remarked from the first sip of his espresso . I am conviced that when you do something with passion, sentiment and love, the result will be non pareil. While engaging with Dado on some breif conversations ( I wish I could have talked with him more but his coffee success made it impossible), I understood straightaway that he was the living proof of it. Not only was I able to meet a fascinating human being, but Dado made me realise that speciality coffee is not just about flavoursome and qualitative coffee, but rather like a big family of people who share the same passion and interest. It is genuinely heartwarming to feel that you are welcomed in a new culture and appreciated by the local community. 4coffee shop was an ideal way to catch a glimpse of the Croatian community (yes many locals do come in this coffee shop) and its loving hospitality. I utterly believe that Dado is one of the kindest, amiable and most passionate person I have ever encountered during my travels anywhere in the world. 4coffee shop and Dado has been the highlight of my trip in Croatia and a sufficient reason to come back again to Split. In my 3 Weeks of stay in Croatia I made a daily habit of coming to this place. Reason: by far the best coffee I have found in split after countless trial and errors with others. Their secret : perfect beans , cooked manually on a weekly basis by the barista himself, perfect / on the spot extraction process , and the most fun guys to chat are always there including the barista who is one of the nicest persons I have met in Croatia. I think this coffee house alone is goon enough reason to make a habit of coming back to split , yearly. Thank you ! Stopped at this place for a coffee our first day in Split and so glad I did. I got a Cortado w/soy milk and it was one of the best I've ever had. Not to mention the guy behind the counter is super friendly, patient, and accommodating.

Since it was SO delicious, we woke up early on our last day in Split so that we had time to grab one last coffee there before hopping on our ferry. Turns out, we got there about 10min before he opened (whoops) and was still setting up. He saw my disappointment and made us coffees anyways, and actually remembered us from the first day we went there - talk about great service!
