Mediterraneo Restaurant Split — Restaurant in Grad Split

Mediterrano is restaurant in a very nice location. It's located in the middle of the old town of Split in Carina poljana. It shares this location with 4 other restaurants. The thing that stood out to me is the service here. Compared to other restaurants waiters here are nice and friendly and can converse with you in many languages which took me by surprise. Food here is delicious as well, which is expected when taking into account it's location and price. During nights​when there isn't many people there it's extremely appealing for a date location. During those times it's nice and quiet. The only thing that can be heard is relaxing music and that atmosphere is further improved by lamps which change color and smell of previously mentioned food. We arrived to the restaurant for lunch and really wanted to try the salads. Decided to order Greek salad and Octopus salad, and all of us were really happy with what we got. The octopus salad was super tasty and filled with octopus, and the feta in greek salad was heavenly. Would definitely recommend. The service was great and the waitor immediately introduced himself as the owner of the place and welcomed us, which was so polite. We asked for some bread with the salad and got it in the end free of charge. Also, we were served with a surprise cake in the end of the lunch, for free again! Unfortunately, the waiter is not interested at all and it seems like every word I get out of him really takes the life out of him, he can't navigate wine and is not interested in making the guests' evening more enjoyable so that they spend more money. After this, I didn't want to order a full dinner. Also, if I say on a rainy day that I'm sitting and water is dripping on my head from the edge of the canopy and there are many free tables, it's still worth moving me, not offering to sit on the other side of the table and look at the white wall when everyone is sitting behind you.
