New Lux Villa Merissima, Split — Hotel in Grad Split

Just ok. The room was attractive, but much smaller then depicted in the photo. I’m 5’3” and had to duck to get out of the way of the beams on the ceiling. If you’re bringing a child it will be tight and the sofa “bed” is just a very hard couch laid flat. No fan in the bathroom and the door is difficult to close. Breakfast was incredibly basic (picture packaged cookies, cereal, fruit) and the coffee maker only worked some of the time and there was no one around to assist. Please note that if you’re on the top floor, you will be climbing 4 flights of a narrow winding staircase. You could also hear music bumping from the downtown scene. The building is medieval from outside, in a narrow alley but completely modern and very tastefully done from the inside. |The staircase is very narrow and you need to be fit to lug your luggage especially if you are on the top floor. Parking is a big issue as this place is right in the old town, so you should call in advance in case you have a car. We managed to park our car in a private parking close to the accommodation for 120 Kuno per day. |The breakfast was sumptuous and good. Verdana was extremely helpful and gave us important tips.
