We chose Prima because 1) an acquaintance had stayed here and recommended it, and 2) the Expedia listing claimed there was parking on site (and we had a car). I see that TA says there is paid parking nearby - but it's not nearby, it's several blocks away. Parking was our only issue; had we known, we would have dropped the bags with one of us for check-in and then gone looking for parking. The concierge did give us some info on paid parking lots, we found one that was 1.5 euros per hour but didn't want to pay that 24/7 during our entire stay. We did locate free street parking about half a mile away, so not convenient but less stress after that. The person who recommended Prima warned us not to be put off by the exterior, and that is correct. Other reviewers have pointed out that there are quite a few stairs to reach the check-in, which is true, but manageable as long as you have no mobility issues. We loved our room, we were on the street side of the corridor yet had no noise issues, and though there were other guests using the coffee/tea area right outside of our room we never heard anyone. The room was spacious, with air conditioning that worked well, and the bathroom was very nice - a roomy shower, not always the case in Europe. Certainly a great location for seeing Diocletian's Palace and the Riva. Would we stay here again? Yes, knowing now about the parking and being prepared to deal with that. Might look around for other accommodations first, but it's likely that anything this close to Split's old quarter is not going to have parking or it will be quite expensive. We felt this was good...
Read moreBianca, the lady who checked us in was very nice . We loved the location, just outside the old town of Split. Easy to drop you off and pick you up. They have a local grocery store right outside the building, so convenient .Prima had very comfortable bed. Bathroom and shower is big, pressure in the shower very good. All outside doors have combination number to get in ....I liked that. Location of our room was very quite. Our room was clean , AC was working well. Coffee and some silverware and glasses are available. Frig is small but it was working well.||||Disliked · It was very hard to find this location. The sign w the name of the Prima should be bigger or at least explained to the costumer in the email more. You need to have a phone to communicate , use what's up. It would be nice to have a couple of water included for the 1 st day. View from the window was just the back of the buildings, no view of the town at all. Looks like this place was renovated but needs some corner wall repair and the window's frames needs some work . The soap bars were so small we needed additional bars almost every day. No elevators there so be ready to carry your bags with you. Rooms are on the second floor. Very hard to find places to park a car. Don't rent....walk, use uber or buses. The hairdryer has no option to stay on unless you're pushing the button non stop. There was no option for breakfasts....too complicated. Photos with food and wine bottles in the rooms are deceiving, there should be removed. Prima does not offer wine or food...
Read moreHelpful landlord (?) who made sure we were comfortably set up|2. Fantastic location, right in the heart of Split old city|3. Safe and quiet. We lived just above two pubs but with the triple glazed windows and curtain, we could hear nothing |4. Modern clean room with a gorgeous bathroom|One suggestion: we were woken up not once, but Twice by their cleaning lady. On day 2 Morning, she tried to open our door. We were shocked and shouted for her to stop. She then made so much noise cleaning the rooms next door. (We were also lucky no one was staying next door so it was extra quiet. But we could hear the cleaning lady vacumming, shifting furniture etc). In the afternoon when we tried to catch our sleep since we were awakened, she came back, mebbe broke the handle of the room next door and made v loud phone calls. It was then we alerted the landlord. After that, all was peaceful.|Overall it was a lovely stay and I would return but I would remind the landlord to at least make sure the cleaner knows which rooms are occupied and to ask for the timings of her arrival so we...
