We booked our room via Expedia while we were in Prague just a couple days prior to arriving (I expect in summer that this place books out months in advance). We stayed over a weekend (Friday-Saturday nights). Location is perfect - sits up on the hill across from the historic center - nice views, quiet neighborhood, and easy, beautiful walk to the historic downtown. ||||Michael was not going to be there when we arrived so he emailed us directions on where to park, how to access the secure locked entry gate and our room. We were pleasantly surprised! The room is an apartment - entry way with hooks for coats, bathroom with stall shower, large kitchen/dining/sitting area and a large bedroom (king bed - king bed frame with two twin mattresses so there is a split down the middle of the bed). Meticulously maintained and clean. The refrigerator comes stocked with wine, milk, water and other drinks (you must pay for what you use and the price list very reasonable). The only downside for us was the mattresses were a bit too firm (and I had a hard time getting used to just a comforter for a cover; top sheets are not the norm in the Czech Republic and some other European cities).||||Our room had a lovely view of the front courtyard and downtown center with late afternoon sun to warm the chilly October day. We found it interesting that the entire street shares heating (Michael said it gets turned on in October and off in the spring - it had just been turned on when we were there). We were able to control the heat on the radiators and all the windows opened so we could get fresh air and cooling if we wanted it.||||The tourist booklet provided in the room is one of the best I've every seen - very detailed and in 3 languages (Czech, English, and I don't recall the third). The map they provided of their location along with a few recommended restaurants was helpful as well.||||We chose to eat breakfast on our own but they have the option of what looked and smelled like a wonderful breakfast and is included is some room rates or you can let them know 24 hours in advance if you'd like breakfast (for a very reasonable fee).||||Thank you!! Great value for a fabulous place to stay (I chose Budget in Expense category because the rate we received for 2 nights for our October stay was incredibly priced at $58 (yes, U.S...
Read morePension Jana provided us with GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE during our May 31-June 1, 2016 stay. We were greeted immediately upon our arrival and taken to our room. Michael provided us with a map and recommendations on how best to navigate the city. Speaking in fluent English, he identified a number of points of interest and recommended some restaurants that reflected our dinning tastes. Our room was spotless and spacious, which allowed us the necessary room to open and organize our suitcases and carry-ons. The mini fridge with a sizable freezer compartment was great as it allowed us to freeze our water bottles before we set out for walking around the city in the warm sun. The room also included a toaster, tea kettle, coffee maker, flatware, plates, bowels, drinking glasses, and coffee cups. There were plenty of electrical outlets for us to operate and charge all our electrical gadgets. The pension’s wireless Internet connection was strong and fast for our laptop and two smart phones. There was plenty of free (and safe) parking on the street for our car. Our room was located in the front of the pension and we had a wonderful view of the castle. From our room, we were surprised to see that were within a 5-10 minute walk of the city center and numerous restaurants. Michael’s fluency in English made for effortless communication, a rarity in rural areas of the Czech Republic. We decided to purchase the optional breakfast at Pension Jana and it was delicious. Michael was especially accommodating when he cooked our eggs to order each morning. In paying for our accommodations, we were offered the flexibility of paying in either Euros or Czech Crowns. Pension Jana combines the best in customer service, room accommodations, and proximity to the city center with convenient, free parking. At €50 Euro per night ($56 dollars/ Kč1340 Koruna) with breakfast for 2 people, STAYING AT PENSION JANA IS THE BEST VALUE IN...
Read moreWe visited first week in Septmeber - two couples and one baby when having overnight trip to Cesky Krumlov. We were given the apartment at the back - long hall with a closet gets you in lovely kitchen/dining area where little sofa and tv is. We had 2 bedrooms, one was double bed and second one had twin beds in, both bedrooms had their own bathroom. There is a door coming from the kitchen area into the garden what is lovely. Kitchen is well equipped, we haven't use it as only stayed for one night, there is a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks in the fridge what is very reasonably priced. ||The beds are very comfortable, shower fine, there was just a bit odd smell coming from the loo what disappeared when we opened the window and let some fresh air in.||The owner left a file with directions to the castle including the caste tour info, map and draw on the map which restaurants we should try.||Location is perfect, just cross the road, bridge and you are in the old town centre, maybe 6 mins walk. ||Only thing is - if you don't eat too much for breakfast then don't bother to pay the €3.80, I only had 2 eggs, bacon and cup of coffee, its definitely worth it if you eat a lot as there is massive selection of food - hot and cold.||Would definitely stay again. Amazing...
