RECEPTION / ARRIVAL From the moment we walked in the door, to the second we left, It felt like I was on holiday with my friends and family. We were greeted by the assertive yet softly spoke, Ahmed, who was our ambassador, and kindly upgraded us on arrival as it was our honeymoon. All guests are greeted with a cocktail/mocktail, shown around the resort, and given access to WIFI, and WHATSAPP in case you have any requests. It was obvious from this first interaction that Cooks Club EL Gouna took service seriously. Classy team on front desk, bravo! The venue is boho chic style, like Tulum vibes. We stayed Bed and Breakfast, as had already planned to eat out a lot, and the breakfast was decent There are lots of options, it’s varied, but no matter where we go you just won’t ever beat English breakfast options in our view. That said, the Eggs were great, as was the man serving them!

POOL & ENTERTAINMENT We went in February, so probably didn’t get to experience the full party vibe and list of entertainment options the hotel can offer when it’s peak season, but quite simply the pool guys, waiting staff, entertainment and activities team went above and beyond to make us smile. The pool area is very much the central focus of Cooks Club, it’s stunning visually, and sits in front of a beautiful man-made lagoon that acts as your very own private beach. Around the pool you have plenty of beds, and the team are very helpful in setting you up to enjoy your day. The don’t let people throw their towels down to reserve beds, it’s all dealt with very fairly but to be honest was never an issue there is plenty spare between the pool and the beach! The facilities around the pool are excellent, with Bochia (boules on sand), corn hole (sandbag game) and a swing in the lagoon (Maldives style). All the staff at Cooks Club leave together off site, and really are one big family, which they constantly try and make you feel part of straight away. Hamoody is a amazing guy, who is truly passionate about his job, his people and the activities schedules he works to put together with the rest of the team. We loved the sunset tour, all the games and competitions on poolside, as well as the mixology class and the cooking class – all completely free! The gym was perfect too, and YOGA classes were highly spoke of although we didn’t take one. The sunbeds are comfortable, and Salem and his team are so helpful they will never ever let you move your own sunbed. You will hear ALLO, shouted loudly many times around the pool until people get the idea that no task is too small for them to support with. Salem makes all the games come alive, with his hilarious dry sense of humour, and his funny sayings that will leave you in stitches – he really is a top guy and deserves all the plaudits for being such a star!

CAPTAIN COOKS BAR The bar is situated just a few metres from the pool, and the team, headed up by Mr Saber – were superb! He is passionate about delivering drinks and food to the highest standard, as are his tea, They all follow his fun and dry sense of humour which was great to be part of. We even got to go behind the bar and makes drinks with them in the mixology class. They are very attentive as a team, and will be on hand to serve you drinks and food all day by the pool – you don’t even need to leave your bed if you don’t want to haha! The bar area and surrounding tables are very cool, stylish and a great place to hand out. Probably the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at! So many reasons why which I go into but it’s mainly the staff and how much they care and look after you whilst you’re staying. Nothing is too much trouble and they all work so hard. Incredibly polite, helpful, kind, warm, genuine and lovely. Really fantastic customer service! I was a solo female traveller and felt very safe and welcomed from the moment I arrived. Rooms: Rustic boutique style, stone floors, rattan mats, modern decor, giant comfy bed, big fluffy towels, lots of hooks to hang bags & clothing, wardrobe, big TV, hairdryer and fridge. Daily free top ups of bottle watered which I think is invaluable. Cleaned immaculately every day. Food: I stayed bed and breakfast but I can honestly say that it was my favourite part of the day, it was full of fresh baked bread, pastries, local baked goods, every type of fruit you could think of, a clay oven baking these delicious pastry/bread puffs (I wish I knew what they were called) a pancake station, an egg station, fresh fruit juice, smoothies, hot food, cheese, meats, etc.They also have a real coffee machine where the wonderful team make you your favourite coffee just the way you like it and fresh, with every type of milk offered. The yoghurt station was incredible, had every type of spice, seed, nut, honey that you could ever want. I didn’t eat from the pool menus but it all looked delicious and the smoothies were delicious! Pool area and hotel: the hotel offers various activities which are mostly free, Bowles, ping pong, darts, cycle tours, yoga classes, paddleboarding and there is a small gym outside. This may not be suitable for gym lovers in the height of the summer. All were fantastic! The staff around the pool area were so helpful, would place towels on your beds, move your bed to follow the sun, take food/drink orders, all with a lovely smile 😊 One of my most favourite things was the fact that staff were always so easily contactable, either through the phone in your room to reception, or they provide a WhatsApp number that they will respond to super quickly about anything you might need. As advertised there is loud music on most nights in the bar area so if this isn’t something you enjoy make sure you request a room away from the bar. I was in Room 142 which was right next to the bar which made it a little difficult to sleep at night. They did kindly offer to move my room but I was ok. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. I will definitely come back and would like to personally thank every single staff member that made my stay so enjoyable. I recently had the pleasure of staying at cook's club, and I can confidently say it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive, specially our Experience Ambassador Youstina. Check-in was smooth, and she even offered a complimentary welcome drink, which was a lovely touch. Thank you Youstina.

Room: My room was absolutely spotless and beautifully designed, with a modern aesthetic and cozy touches that made me feel right at home. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The view from my room was stunning — I could see the pool which made for a serene backdrop every morning.

Amenities: The hotel facilities were top-notch! The pool area was clean and well-maintained, with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas for relaxing.

Dining: The food at cook's club was some of the best I've ever had at a hotel. The breakfast buffet was extensive, with options for every palate, from fresh fruits and pastries to made-to-order omelets. The dinner experience was exceptional, with a menu featuring locally sourced ingredients and an impressive wine list. I highly recommend trying Seafood night— it was unforgettable!

Service: What truly set cook's club apart was the staff's dedication to making every guest feel valued and special. They went above and beyond to accommodate any requests I had and were always available for recommendations and advice about local attractions. Location: The location couldn’t have been more convenient! Situated in the heart of downtown and near to the beach.This made it easy to explore the area, and transportation options were easily accessible.
