SunRise Bar & Restaurant Luxor — Restaurant in Luxor City

I went there with my Spanish friend. The food was delicious and tasty yet not enough portion, the service was very good also. Then, my friend ordered a mojito and she said "that's the most disgusting mojito I have ever tasted in my life!" I order lemon with mint and it was tasteless, just water with a flavor of lemon! We didn't want to make a problem because we were tired and just wanted to rest for a bit but we decided that we won't tip them. After we paid the bill, the waiter came to me and asked "no tip at all?" I answered "the drinks were very bad so, no" He gave me a dispiced look saying "All Egyptians do that! Eat and drink and then complain about something to avoid tipping!"

I visited with a local colleague who suggested the restaurant rather than a more expensive hotel restaurant. Although a little shabby and not particularly well frequented, the menu we chose was cooked to order, fresh and tasty. Apart from that it was extremely good value. We ate the chicken menu which started with a delicious local soup with warm bread, followed by wonderful roast chicken quarters with rice and freshly grilled vegetables and finally warm cake (homemade) with fresh guava. I wanted to like this place, perhaps it's the timing I went. The photos online showed an active restaurant I was expecting something different.

When I arrived the restaurant was empty. It smelled like smoke so I sat by the window. The pictures I saw online of the food didn't look the same as what I received.. I ordered a chicken burger and the burger tasted funny to me.. My stomach did not like it that evening 🤣🍔
