The best view in Tallinn w/ TWO balconies overlooking the Town Square, 2/2 (2nd floor w/ elevator [tiny, ancient & slow but works], full kitchen (dishwasher, large fridge & microwave too), washing machine, clean w/ everything you need for a perfect stay. Didn’t have to go out to buy anything although there is a RIMI Express market just around the corner. Book APT #1 early ‘cause it’s the ONLY apt w/ balconies). Although it is a 2/2, I traveled alone & loved it. Although it was overlooking the Town Square Tallinn goes to sleep early; there are no loud bars anywhere & the apt windows/doors are well-insulated. ||I was there late May & had no need for a/c. Tallinn at night is always cool even if the day is warm. Not sure if apt even has a/c; didn’t need it (& I’m from Miami where EVERYTHING has a/c).||The host responded promptly (but never met her/him). Only issue was beeping smoke alarm that just needed new battery; resolved w/in 24 hrs). You’ll receive instructions w/ door code & key box combination the day before your arrival. WiFi is “Apartments2.” The pwd written on the door is illegible. ||Check-in at 3pm. I used Hotel Veru (former “skyscraper” KGB bugged hotel w/ KGB Museum tour) to store luggage (5€ per piece but ask receptionist NICELY). It’s a 10 min walk to Kinga 1. ||Taxis cannot reach apt front door because it’s on the Town Square. Ask taxi/Bolt! to drop you off at Tourist Information Office (Niguliste 2) as it’s the closet to the apt & taxis know where it is. ||Before walking two short blocks to the apt door on the Town Square, you may even want to go in to get a map or ask any questions you may have; the ladies speak impeccable English & are helpful, patient & kind. They provided me with info on cultural events. I ended up buying tickets to the Estonia Opera & Concert Hall for two performances; highly recommended if you enjoy seeing the interior of beautiful city venues while enjoying music/dance performances; tickets are cheap (compared to U.S. prices).||The “Tallinn in a Nutshell Free Walking Tour” also meets at this location daily at 11 am & 2 pm. Tour guide Katia was exceptional if you can get her. Her voice carries well, her walking pace works for all ages & her story-telling make the 2+ hour walk entertaining while still being informative. ||If I return to Tallinn, I will stay nowhere else. Hope my review helps you make your decision on where to stay for a few days in Tallinn. Because of the 3 pm check-in & 11 am check-out I’d recommend these apartments if staying 3+ days, otherwise, a hotel may be more practical because of possible early checkin, later checkout &...
Read moreThis apartment is located in the centre of Tallinn old town which makes it an excellent place to stay for those visiting the city. However the location has its downside as the commotion from bars/street beside the complex carries loudly indoors. Nor was the soundproofing between other apartments any good. (We stayed a couple weekend nights so not sure how loud it is on weekdays..). The cleanliness of the apartment was far from mediocre as most of the dishes and kitchen appliances were extra dirty. We were also worried after noticing that no smoke detectors were attached to their designated spots, in stead we found multiple detectors sitting in the cupboard. Kitchen faucet was also loose. It’s also worth mentioning that to our suprise the oven and stove were gas-controlled and there weren’t any operation manual. Also the ”coffee machine” is just a capsule device, not what we expected. Beds were more uncomfortable than promised. Check-in ans check-out worked smoothly but overall I would not recommend...
