The worst campsite we stayed on the TMB. ||Toilets are in a single block with 5 cubicles. Toilet roll is not freely available in each. You have to collect it before entering the cubicle and hope you dont run out.||When we first arrived the toilet floor was soaking wet. 3 of the 5 cubicles appeared to have been recently cleaned. The other two had a wet muddy liquid covering the floor. I attempted to use a clean toilet and was rudely told to use the other ones by a young female member of staff who had earlier been working in the reception area. When I pointed out the muddy wet flooring, she said it was clean and I had to use it. I had to remove my shorts and underwear completely so they did not become filthy and wet. When i exited the cubicle a chain had been put across the bathroom, essentially closing it off to other people.||Hand soap is not available. Another thing to bare in mind after using the toilets. You have to leave the toilet to find a sink and hope that too is not closed off.||The showers were another concern. You were not allowed to wear sliders or Crocs in there. Going barefoot in a shower used by hundreds of people each week was not a pleasant experience. The showers itself were nice and warm, but you had to hold the shower head itself to use it.|There were only 5 showers for the whole site, so queues were common at peak times.||The site is situated next to a busy road. The smell of petrol in the morning was noticable. The noise did not keep us awake, but isnt ideal.||Tents are crammed in next to each other. Dont expect any privacy. Would not...
Read moreI traveled from China to Europe by motorcycles, and I have lived in other camps, but My experience here is very poor. It can be said that it is the worst since I traveled to Europe. Due to the attitude of the boss, I did not choose to live here. Because of the friend's recommendation, I chose to come here, but there are so many people, and not as good as my friends said, maybe it is just the reason for the location. The boss said that the camp is full,If you find somewhere, you can live here. When I find the location, he says that it is parked for the car. Maybe there will be a car at night, then I will find another open space. It was enough to put the tent, but there were two friends who came on walking . The boss did not ask for my opinion. He said that the place was for them. You can ride a motorcycle and go to other camps. It is really very angry. It’s like getting on the bus and queuing up, driving in order to line up, it’s not fair to me, he refused me twice. At the very least, there is no respect and fairness. I think it is really not a good place to camp. I don't think I have any words that are unreasonable and offensive to the boss. Although his daughter is still friendly, in the end I chose to leave. When I left, there was still space. This may be discrimination. One does not welcome to ride a motorcycle to camp. The photo was taken when I left, you can see that there are obvious vacancies,...
Read moreCamping Les Arolles is not a good place to camp for hikers. I camped here for 2 nights after my TMB hike when I was too exhausted to go anywhere else and it's a really poorly run caravan park.||Here are a few examples:||They don’t have credit card facilities, so you have to walk a fair bit to get money out. They don’t put toilet paper in the toilet cubicles, which is insane, just a single dispenser in the room. If you don't know this, or take enough paper before using the toilet, you're stuck.|||They don’t have soap at any sink to wash hands. It seems like their stinginess causes constant inconveniences. ||WIFI didn't work at all, i had multiple devices to test this. It connects, but internet was non existant. I had to use my mobile data. |||They have a gravel driveway next to the campsite for hikers, so the site is covered in small sharp rocks that will rip your tent. ||One good point is they have plenty of charging stations and the price is reasonable, also there were enough toilets and showers so there wasn't a big queue. ||However, the staff were not good to deal with, which matches the general attitude that decided to deprive customers of soap and toilet paper. ||I could go on, it’s just poorly run and I wouldn't stay here, there are much better options...
