⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would!)
I don't usually leave reviews, but after dining at Bighorn Bistro, I felt compelled to share how genuinely phenomenal this place is. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with such warmth and friendliness—it immediately set the tone for a fantastic experience. The entire staff was welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home, but I especially want to highlight Kaitlyn, who truly went above and beyond. She was absolutely amazing—kind, patient, knowledgeable about the menu, and so attentive without ever being overbearing. Honestly, service like that is rare these days, and she made our visit that much more enjoyable.
Now, let’s talk about the food—specifically, the burgers. WOW. Hands down, the best burgers I’ve had in a very long time—maybe even ever. You can tell everything is made with care and high-quality ingredients. The patty was cooked perfectly—juicy, flavorful, and full of that rich, meaty taste you crave in a great burger. The bun was soft and fresh, and all the toppings were perfectly balanced, never overpowering but adding the perfect complement of flavor and texture. Every bite was just pure satisfaction.
An extra bonus (and something I really appreciate) is that they offer gluten-free buns—and not the cardboard-tasting kind you sometimes get at other places. These were genuinely good, soft, and held up well with the burger. That level of attention to dietary needs really shows how much they care about their customers.
Overall, Bighorn Bistro delivers on all fronts: amazing food, top-tier service, a welcoming atmosphere, and thoughtful menu options for everyone. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is THE spot for a perfect meal. I would recommend it a hundred times over—and like I said at the start, if I could give it more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. Do yourself a favor and eat here. You won’t regret it!
Read moreIf you're in Chamonix with your family and you haven’t eaten at Bighorn Bistro yet, are you even doing family vacation right? This place is a culinary playground for both adults and kids, and it absolutely stole the show on our trip. We dined with two other families, hitting three well-researched and pre-booked restaurants (because, yes, we are those people), and let me tell you—Bighorn Bistro didn’t just win; it lapped the competition.
First of all, the food is next-level. Sure, they serve burgers, but these aren't your average drive-thru patties. These burgers are elevated—like, wear-a-tuxedo-and-have-a-college-degree elevated. My chicken salad? Perfection. It was fresh, healthy, and topped with grilled chicken that was so perfectly cooked, I’m convinced it went to culinary school. I felt virtuous for ordering salad but didn’t feel like I was missing out because every bite was pure joy.
The drinks? Phenomenal. Whether you’re in the mood for a creative cocktail or something to help you forget that your kids were arguing about the color of snowflakes 20 minutes ago, Bighorn's got you covered.
And speaking of kids—they loved it. The menu had options they devoured (which, if you know picky eaters, is no small feat). The staff made them feel welcome and special without any eye-rolls or that thinly veiled "not another family with kids" energy you sometimes get at nice places.
Now let’s talk service. I don’t know if the staff were secretly superheroes, but they were everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Drinks refilled before you realized they were empty, kid chaos defused with smiles, and not a single detail missed. By the end of the meal, I was wondering if they’d come babysit.
Bighorn Bistro wasn’t just a meal; it was an experience. It set the bar so high that now every other restaurant on our trip felt like a consolation prize. Families, trust me on this: book a table here, let the kids go nuts over the food, and enjoy what might just be the most stress-free and delicious dining experience in Chamonix. You’ll...
Read moreI'm not sure how Bighorn compares to other restaurants in Chamonix, as this is the first and only place I have been to so far. But what I do now, after talking to one of the restaurant staff members (who were all extremely friendly and affable) is that bighorn is one of only a handful of places that offers a fantastic view of the mountains (and partial snow in summertime) from a very quiet square. This is because most of the restaurants are tucked away in tight roads covered by chalets. It was one of only a few places available at the time I wanted (and really needed!) to eat as it seems that some of the restaurants close in the afternoon before opening in the evening time. The restaurant has a very small menu between three and six in what they call a happy hour time. It appears to be half a bar half a restaurant and caters to drinkers and eaters alike and surrounded by a couple of other bars so I can only assume that this is a popular area for people drinking during the day and evening. As I only arrived just after 3 pm there were no other guests. I opted for the bighorn burger which cost €18 and I had a sprite with that which cost €3.75. The burger was absolutely delicious, very very tasty, patty with lettuce, some sort of aioli mayonnaise, onion relish and addictive, oily crispy fries (after looking at some of the other photos, the fries I had seem to be particularly impressive in comparison so I am not sure of their consistency). I thoroughly recommend bighorn as a place where you can sit in a much more peaceful environment, compared to the other extremely busy restaurants along the main road, and also enjoy a very decent burger. Although I am not sure what any of the rest of the menu has to offer, I have a feeling it would also be to a high standard. But do be warned that between three and six, the menu was extremely limited, and it appeared to me that the burger and fries was the only substantial offering other than some other...
