Disappointing as location good but The flat is not quiet at all. You can hear neighbours internet box ventilates heavily There is a Permanent noisy INVISIBLE clock in electrical cabinet The area is not quiet as you've a lot of Traffic Also, Recycling bins are located just below the windows Consequently Municipal trucks come to empty them sometimes several times a day between 5am and 7am. You also have local noisy deliveries early in the morning Air extractor in living room is stuck, dirty and noisy In bathroom, dirty as well I found several pages with details of a booking dated 27/09/21, which would not imply a thorough cleaning either
I never sleep with ear plugs as I'm not a noise sensitive person but there, even with protection, sleep is not smooth
Having Two separate single beds is not comfy No ski storage is very inconvenient and brings a lot of noise to the whole building as other flats also lack it so people come and go with ski boots...
The Wi-Fi is weak, you'll have a better connection in any bar or restaurant
There is a Strong cooking smell in flat and building everyday, probably coming from the bakery chain downstairs
The flat has No shutters, only curtains One heater was not working when I checked in so struggle to reach a decent temperature
TV plug will soon be out of service as already twisted I did not have WiFi one morning as bill not paid according to provider, although they said they did. Signal came back shortly after but why wait for the last day to pay a 20 € bill? This is not professional.
Finally, not providing bed protection is unacceptable, all the more so in times of a pandemic
Conclusion : the studio is too noisy, not being taken care of well enough and too expensive even for high season in Chamonix. You'll easily find more satisfying...
Read moreAccommodation is clean, well presented and well equipped once inside the apartment. However there were some significant drawbacks for my family. Then accommodation is some distance from the centre so walking in ski boots was an issue. The front door to the apartment doesn’t work and left us locked out one evening, and the apartment block overall is not the most appealing. Inside the apartment the TV is in French only, and the WiFi was difficult to join. The heating for the block is centrally controlled and we were cold enough to ask for extra radiators and this was not a cold period overall in Chamonix either. The ski storage in the basement is really just a small cupboard with a basic padlock and is not heated. The final issue was checkout is 10.00 with nowhere to store cases so if you want to ski that day it’s a real problem. We had to take our cases 1 Km to the agents offices who were very helpful, but it was hard work and embarrassing dragging everything through town to get there and then at the end of the day having to get changed in a hotel toilet. For these reasons we would not consider booking again as there is much better available in this price bracket had I booked earlier...
Read moreSpent a week at Au Bon Coin and we truly, honestly, could not be happier.
It is an apartment but with a fantastic house mountain type of feeling, so you get best of both worlds. The place is extremely well equipped, spacious, cozy and also personal. The hiking/adventurous type of decoration and books at the apartment remind you of what an amazing place on earth Chamonix is and inspires to go out there and have a ton of fun.
Location is also unbeatable, very accessible to great restaurants, coffee shops, shops and boulangeries from the town but also an easy access to the Chamonix closest slopes through the Plan Praz (for skiing) and Aiguille du Midi (for hiking). I do admit that we did rent a car though, as this is the best way to get to fully know the area -and the apartment happens to have a convenient parking-. However, if you do not rent a car, the bus station is just steps away.
Finally, the landlords are extremely responsive. I truly can't wait to...
