Onboarding and service at reception was at the level, the guy he was really trying. The room seems half modernized and feels like good old 80s under, has at least air-conditioning which makes one star for them. Other than that hard to justify. The bed seems to have its best times over, sound insulation (2nd floor, room 14) doesn't exist, at least some modern looking windows, problem arises it's at frequent downtown street with red light so you'll enjoy blasting music playlist during summer, cold lights are minor. A surprise came in for breakfast where we checked with a guy intercontinental breakfast as I wanted to get to eat something before gonna catch flight at 8am. What it's in the picture is what I've got, I believe tea and honey must be intercontinental, so definitely not worth an extra 17eur.
It's ok for emergencies to stay single night if you got a flight canceled but probably wouldn't risk it longer.
For me it's more likely a 2 star hotel.
With old photos there was a 2 star hotel Corona in the past...
Read moreYou really cannot go wrong with this lovely boutique hotel located just a few mins walk from Cannes promenade/beach. Stayed here for 3 nights recently during a trip with friends. Highlights of the room/hotel: very comfortable bed and clean linen with a superb hot shower (the two most important factors!); lovely ambience and dark decor; everything was functioning well and the staff were friendly and helpful; best of all the location is amazing and very central. Downsides: ironically the central location means it is noisy outside and you can hear some street sounds in your room well after midnight (stayed on level 2, the highest floor, and it still bothered me on the first night - although it was a Friday); also the rooms could do without those horrid netted shower curtains in front of the windows, they add nothing and make the room look awful! Overall, a fantastic stay and I'd go back if I was in Cannes and wanted a cheap and...
Read moreVery disappointed from our 1 night stay. The pictures, e.g. on booking.com, did not match the room we got. We expected a small but clean room, maybe a bit loud. It's France, so that is the usual. It seemed to be renovated a few years ago, but very poorly. The room smelled very moldy/ sweetly and the AC did not cool even turned on. We woke up the next morning with bites on our leg/ hands which looked typical like bed bugs, 3 near together. And Itching like hell for the next week. We couldn't see any other traces of bed bugs, beside the smell in the room. But the lighting was so poorly, and the carpet 20 years old and dirty that one couldn't differentiate dirt from possible traces. So be aware about the possibility of existing bed bugs and book a different hotel.
Reception staff was nice and helpful, but we couldn't leave early enough the...
